The Toronto Blue Jays and Houston Astros face off Saturday in an MLB showdown at Minute Maid Park.
On Friday it was the Toronto Blue Jays that won 4-3. The Blue Jays scored a run in the 9th inning, and that secured the victory.
The Blue Jays sit with a 9-5 record overall and they have won three games in a row. It has been good pitching over the last three games, giving up only six runs total and that led to the winning streak. Vladimir Guerrero Jr has gotten out to a fast start and on the season he has hit five home runs and driven in 11 RBI’s. Matt Chapman has also hit two home runs and driven in nine RBI’s.
On the other side of this matchup is the Astros who sit with a 6-7 record overall and they have lost three games in a row. Over the last three games they have scored only five runs total, and for as much talent as the offense has, it hasn’t been good enough to start the season. Alex Bregman has been the top player hitting two home runs and driving in nine RBI’s.
Getting the start for the Blue Jays will be Alek Manoah and he sits with a 1-0 record and an ERA of 1.50. It looks like Manoah could be in consideration for the Cy Young if he keeps this success up.
Getting the start for the Astros will be Jose Uriquidy and in his last start against the Mariners, he went four innings giving up eight hits and six runs.
The Blue Jays are 33-15 in their last 48 games. The Astros are 5-2 in their last seven games during Game 2 of a series. The Blue Jays are 2-5 in their last seven games against the Astros. The over is 7-3-2 in the last 12 meetings played between the two teams.
Alek Manoah has been lights out this year, and he is going to lock down the Astros offense in this game. Look for the Astros to only score a goal or two and that will be the difference as the Blue Jays get the job done. Back the Blue Jays on the money line.
