The Los Angeles Angels and Baltimore Orioles face off on Saturday in an MLB showdown at Angel Stadium. When these two teams faced off on Friday it was the Orioles that pulled the upset winning 5-3.
The Orioles have a 5-9 record overall, but they aren’t as bad as years past. This is a team that has already found success against the Yankees, and now already have a win over the Angels. On Friday, Bruce Zimmerman had a good start, going six innings and giving up only two runs. Cedric Mullins has been the top player for the Orioles hitting two home runs and driving in eight RBI’s.
On the other side of this matchup is the Los Angeles Angels who sit with an 8-6 record, and they had won two games in a row against the Astros before losing on Friday. The Angels had eight hits on Friday but they had issues stringing them together, and that led to the defeat. Brandon Marsh has been the top player for the Angels hitting a home run and driving in 11 RBI’s. Shohei Ohtani has also been strong hitting three home runs and driving in nine RBI’s.
Getting the start for the Orioles is Spenser Watkins and in eight innings so far this season he has given up six hits and two runs. The Orioles didn’t give him any run support in those two games.
Getting the start for the Angels is Noah Syndergaard and he sits with a 2-0 record and an ERA of 1.59. In 11.1 innings so far this season he has given up seven hits and two runs.
The Orioles are 37-74 in their last 106 games played on Saturday. The Angels are 5-1 in their last six games overall. The Orioles are 2-5 in their last seven meetings against the Angels. The over is 7-2 in the last nine meetings in Los Angeles.
Syndergaard is going to lock down in this game, and the Orioles are once again going to him no run support. Look for the Orioles to struggle to score and the Angels are going to score enough against Watkins, and the bullpen to get the job done. Back the Angels on the run line.
