The San Francisco Giants and Washington Nationals face off on Friday in a National League MLB showdown at Nationals Park.
The San Francisco Giants come into this game with an 8-5 record overall but they had some struggles against the Mets losing three of the four games. In the last two losses the Mets have only scored three runs, and that wasn’t enough to get the job done. Overall the pitching staff has been strong giving up only 2.77 runs per game which is 3rd best in the league. Brandon Belt has had a nice season hitting four home runs and driving in eight RBI’s.
On the other side of this matchup is the Washington Nationals who sit with a 6-9 record and they picked up another loss on Thursday. The offense only managed three runs and that led to the defeat. The offense hasn’t been good but thier pitching staff has really cost them much of the season. Josh Bell is having a nice season hitting two home runs and driving in 12 RBI’s.
There has been no starting pticher announced yet for the Giants.
Getting the start for the Washington Nationals will be Patrick Corbin and he currenlty sits with an ERA of 7.50.
The Nationals are 1-6 in their last seven games played on Friday. The under is 4-1 in the Nationals' last 5 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600. The under is 4-1 in the Nationals five home games. The under is 4-1 in the Giants last five games played on Friday.
Patrick Corbin has been awful this year, and the Giants are going to tee off on him early and often. It wouldn’t shock me if the Giants scored 10 or 11 runs, and this game is going to get out of hand early. Look for the Giants to win this game on the run line. With the Giants offense having such a big game, I expect this game is going to be a shootout. Back the over. I really like both of these plays a lot.
