The Kansas City Royals and Seattle Mariners face off on Friday in an MLB showdown at T-Moble Park.
Kansas City comes into this game with a 5-5 record overall but they are coming off a very disappointing loss. The offense couldn’t get on the board against the Minnesota Twins and were defeated 1-0. The biggest issue for this Royals team has been with the offense and they are averaging only 2.82 runs per game. Salvador Perez has been the top player for the Royals hitting four home runs and driving in six RBI’s.
On the other side of this matchup is the Mariners who sit with a 7-6 record but they were defeated 8-6 in the last game against the Texas Rangers. The Mariners gave up two runs in the 9th inning and that was the difference. Even though they lost the offense did look good and they will try to build on that in this game. Ty France has been the top player for the Mariners hitting three home runs and driving in 12 RBI’s.
Getting the start for the Royals is Brad Keller who sits with an 0-1 record and an ERA of 1.38. On the season he has gone 13 innings giving up five hits and two runs.
Getting the start for the Mariners is Chris Flexen and he sits with an 0-2 record and an ERA of 5.23. In his last start against the Astros he went six innings giving up five hits and three runs.
The Mariners are 6-1 in their last seven games played on Friday. The under is 5-0 in the Royals last five games. The under is 3-0-1 in the Royals last four games against the American League West. The under is 6-1-1 in Keller’s last eight starts following a quality start in his last appearance.
The Royals have the advantage on the mound, and although I don’t think they have an elite offensive game, they are going to find enough offensive success to get the job done. The Mariners are only going to score one or two runs, and that will be enough for the Royals to win this game.
