The San Francisco Giants and New York Mets face off on Wednesday in an MLB showdown at Citi Field.
These two teams played a doubleheader on Tuesday and the Mets won both of the games. In the first game the Mets won 5-4 and in the last game against the Mets they won 3-1.
The Mets come into this game with a 9-3 record overall and they have leaned on their pitching all season to find the success. The offense hasn’t been as good as the pitching, but that can’t be overlooked with how they have done this season. Pete Alonso has bene the top offensive player hitting three home runs and driving in 14 RBI’s.
On the other side of htis matchup is the Giants who were having a lot of success until Tuesday when they lost both of the games. Much the Mets the GIants have alos leaned on the pitching staff, but they are going to neted to find a way to get the offense going in this game. Brandon Belt has had a nice season hitting three home runs and driving in seven RBI’s.
Getting the start for the Giants will be Carlos Rodon and on the season he has gone 12 innings giving up five hits and two runs. In his last start against Cleveland, he went seven innings giving up two hits and a run.
On the mound for the Mets is Chris Bassitt and he has been strong also. Bassitt has went 12 innings giving up five hits and one run.
The Giants are 5-1 in their last 6 Tuesday games. Mets are 4-1 in their last 5 during game 1 of a series. The Mets are 4-1 in their last 5 overall. The under is 4-0 in Megills last 4 starts overall. The over is 4-0 in the Giants last 4 Tuesday games. The under is 10-2 in the Mets last 12 vs. National League West.
Both starting pitchers have been strong this year, and I expect this game is going to be much of the same. Look for both pitchers to only give up a run or two and that will be the difference as this game stays under the total. Back the under to cash.
