The Philadelphia Phillies and Miami Marlins face off on Saturday in an MLB showdown at Marlins Park. In the first game of this series it was the Marlins that came away with the 4-3 victory. On Friday it was much of the same as the Marlins were able to win 7-1.
The Marlins have gotten good pitching most of the season, it’s mostly been the offense that has let them down when they have struggled. On Friday, the Marlins scored two runs each in the first two innings, and the pitching staff did the rest to secure the victory. Jazz Chisholm has been the top player for the Marlins hitting two home runs and driving in seven RBI’s. Jesus Sanchez has also hit two home runs.
On the other side of this matchup is the Philadelphia Phillies who had a lot of buzz heading into the season but it’s been a struggle and they sit with a 3-5 record overall. Over the last two games the Phillies have only scored four runs total and they need to find a way to get the offense going in this game. Nick Castellanos has been the top player hitting two home runs and driving in five RBI’s.
Getting the start for the Phillies will be Ranger Suarez and in his first start of the season against the Mets he went 2.2 innings giving up five hits and three hits.
On the mound for the Marlins will be Trevor Rogers and he comes into this game with an 0-1 record and ERA of 3.60. He went five innings against the Giants giving up six hits and three runs.
The Phillies are 4-1 in their last five games on Saturday. The Marlins are 5-2 in their last seven games on Saturday. The under is 5-1 in the last six meetings between the Phillies and Marlins.
Ranger Suarez was awful in his first start of the season and it’s going to be no different in this game. Look for the Marlins to continue their offensive success and they are going to get the job done. I also expect that Rogers will have a strong start for the Marlins and the home team will get the job done. Back the Marlins on the money line.
