The Cincinnati Reds and Los Angeles Dodgers face off on Saturday in a National League MLB showdown at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers have won the first two games of the series.
In Game 1 it was the Dodgers that won 9-3 and in the second game it was much of the same as the Dodgers won 3-1.
The Dodgers have gotten off to a nice start to the season sitting with a 5-2 record and they have won four games straight. Each of the first two games of the series the pitching staff was strong, and they are going to need that to continue. Will Smith has been the top player hitting a home run and driving in six RBI’s. Gavin Lux is also having a strong season hitting a home run and driving in five RBI’s.
On the other side of this matchup is the Cincinnati Reds who have gotten out to a terrible start and the offense is an issue over the last two games. On Friday they had five hits, but only one crossed the plate. In this game with Greene on the mound, the Reds are going to need to find a way to give him some run support. Tyler Stephenson has hit two home runs and driven in six RBI’s.
Getting the start for the Reds will be Hunter Greene and he comes into this game with a 1-0 record and an ERA of 5.20. Greene got some run support in the first game.
On the mound for the Dodgers will be Julio Urias and in his first start against the Rockies he went two innings giving up six hits and six runs.
The Reds are 4-11 in their last 15 games on the road. The Dodgers are 40-12 in their last 52 home games. The over is 5-1-2 in the Reds last eight road games. The over is 4-1 in the Dodgers last five home games. The over is 6-2 in the last eight meetings played between the two teams. The Reds are 1-4 in the last five meetings against the Dodgers.
The Reds offense is a problem, and I don’t expect Greene is going to have a strong start in this game. Look for the Reds to only score two or three runs, and the Dodgers are going to score six or seven runs at least. Back the Dodgers on the run line.
