The Houston Astros and Arizona Diamondbacks face off on Wednesday in an MLB showdown at Chase Field. In the first game of this series it was the Astros that were able to win 2-1. Both teams had good pitching, but in the 9th inning it was a run by the Astros that was the difference in the victory.

The Astros come into this game with a 4-1 record overall but they really had to lean on the pitching. Overall this season the offense actually hasn’t been great and just a few games ago against the Los Angeles Angels they lost 2-0. Alex Bregman has been the top offensive player hitting two home runs and driving in six RBI’s.

On the other side of this matchup is the Diamondbacks who have gotten out to a slow start and they have also had the offense that has been the issue. They got good pitching on Tuesday but the offense couldn’t get anything going. Seth Beer and Cooper Hummell have been the top two players hitting a home run and driving in three RBI’s.

Getting the start for the Astros will be Famber Valdez who was good in his first start against the Angels giving up two hits and zero runs.

On the mound for the Diamondbacks will be Merrill Kelly and in his first start against the Padres he went four innings and gave up four hits and zero runs.
