The Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves face off on Sunday in a National League MLB showdown at SunTrust Park. The Braves have won two of the first three games of this series.
The Reds were able to win the first game 6-3 but since that point the Braves have won two games in a row. Each of the last two games have been decided by only one run.
The first two games of the series the pitching wasn’t great for the Braves, but it got a lot better on Saturday. The only player to give up a run on Saturday was Will Smith. Travis D’Arnaud and Ozzie Albies have been the top two players so far this season for the Braves itching driving in three runs. In this game look for the Braves to try and get to Hunter Greene early.
On the other side of this matchup is the Cincinnati Reds who looked good in the first game and have been competitive the last two games just haven’t been able to get the key hits late to come away with the victory. Brandon Dury and Tyler Stephenson have been the top two players for the Reds each driving in three runs.
Getting the start for the Reds will be Hunter Greene who was selected with the second overall pick in the 2017 draft.
On the mound for the Braves will be Ian Anderson and last season he finished with a 9-5 record and an ERA of 3.58 in 24 appearances.
The Reds are 2-5 in their last seven games overall. The Reds are 3-9 in their last 12 road games. The Braves are 13-3 in their last 16 home games. The Reds are 2-5 in their last seven meetings in Atlanta. The under is 5-2 in the Reds last four games during Game 4 of a series.
All eyes are on Hunter Greene in this matchup, but I expect the Braves bats are going to get to him in this game. Ian Andreson is going to have a strong start for the Braves and that is going to be the difference as they cruise to the victory. Back the Braves -2.5 to win.
