Wednesday is another full slate of MLB games, and there is plenty of value across the board in terms of free MLB picks. Let’s take a look at a free MLB pick on each of the games.
Miami Marlins -115 at Washington Nationals -105 Total: 8.5
The Miami Marlins aren’t a strong offensive team, and they are going to struggle to score in this game. Trevor Rogers hasn’t been as strong his last couple of starts, including his last start where he gave up four runs in 4.1 innings. With the lack of run support for Rogers, the Nationals will come away with the victory.
Play: Nationals ML -105
Milwaukee Brewers -222 at Detroit Tigers +190 Total: 9
The big question for the Tigers in this game is which Matt Manning is going to show up. In two of Manning’s last three starts he has given up only one run, and in the other game he gave up eight runs. In two of the Brewers' three games against the Indians, they scored at least ten runs. The Brewers are going to tee off on Manning, and they will win this game on the run line.
Play: Brewers -1.5
Tampa Bay Rays +150 at Toronto Blue Jays -169 Total: 9
Michael Wacha isn’t the same pitcher on the road. Coming into this game away from home Wacha has a 1-3 record and an ERA of 6.28. The Blue Jays have some of the hottest bats in the MLB, and they will tee off on Wacha. Back the Blue Jays.
Play: Blue Jays ML
Boston Red Sox -120 at Seattle Mariners +100 Total: 8.5
This total is too low. Marco Gonzales hasn’t been terrible for the Seattle Mariners, but he usually gives up three or four runs a start. In Tanner Houck’s last start he went 3.2 innings giving up four runs. There were nine runs scored on Monday, and I expect at least that scored in this game.
Cincinnati Reds -161 at Pittsburgh Pirates +140 Total: 9
I don’t love the -161 that has to be laid with the Reds, but this game is going to get out of hand early. Mitch Keller gets the start for the Pirates and in his last start against the Tigers he went five innings giving up 10 hits and four runs. Three starts ago Keller gave up seven runs. The Reds are going to run up the score, and win this game.
Play: Reds ML
Chicago Cubs +170 at Philadelphia Phillies -189 Total: 9
The Phillies are going to win this game big. Ranger Suarez over his last three starts has gone 16.1 innings total, giving up two runs total. The Cubs bats have been a little better as of late, but they are going to struggle against Suarez. Back the Phillies to win this game by at least four runs.
Play: Phillies -3.5
New York Yankees at Baltimore Orioles
John Means hasn’t been pitching terribly as of late, but the Baltimore Orioles haven’t given him a ton of run support this year. The Orioles have lost each of Means last seven starts. The Orioles bats will struggle against Nestor Cortes Jr, and the Yankees will win this game.
Play: Yankees -1.5.
St. Louis Cardinals +130 at New York Mets -149 Total: 8
Jon Lester has seemed to revive his career the last month with his pitching. Over Lester’s last three starts he has gone 18.2 innings giving up only four runs total. The Mets are going to struggle to score, much like they have done all season, and the Cardinals will pull the upset.
Play: Cardinals ML +130
Colorado Rockies +180 at Atlanta Braves -208 Total: 9
There are plenty of better games to bet on Wednesday. Antonio Senzatela during his last two starts has given up only five runs total. The Braves are averaging .240 against right handers this season, and their lack of scoring will lead to the Rockies pulling the upset. Back the Rockies ML.
Play: Rockies ML +180
Cleveland Indians -105 at Minnesota Twins -115 Total: 9
The Twins keep sending Griffin Jax to the mound and the only reason he still has a spot in the rotation is because of injuries. Jax over his last three starts has gone 15.2 innings giving up 14 runs. The Indians are going to light up Jax early, and they will win this game big. Back the Indians on the run line.
Play: Indians -1.5
Houston Astros -209 at Texas Rangers +180 Total: 9
Runs are going to be hard to come by in this game. Kohei Arihara has given up only three runs over his last two starts. The Rangers have the second worst offense in baseball averaging only 3.91 runs per game. The Astros will score some runs, but the Rangers ice cold bats will keep this game under the total.
Play: Under
Los Angeles Angels at Chicago White Sox
There have been no starting pitchers announced yet for this game.
Oakland Athletics -149 at Kansas City Royals +130 Total 8.5
Mike Minor has a high ERA overall, but most of those struggles happened earlier in the season. Over Minor’s last three starts he has given up only six runs total. The Royals have won six of their last ten games and they won’t need a whole lot of run support for Minor to win this game.
Play: Royals ML +130
San Diego Padres at San Francisco Giants
Joe Musgrove has continued to pitch well and over his last three starts he has given up only five runs. Three starts ago, Musgrove went nine innings giving up three hits and zero runs. I expect the Giants to struggle to score, and I still don’t trust the Padres offense. Back the under.
Play: Under
Arizona Diamondback at Los Angeles Dodgers
There have been no starting pitchers announced for this game.
