It’s another full slate of games across the MLB on Friday and that means there are many different options to make you money with free MLB picks. Let’s take a look at a free MLB pick on each of the games.
San Francisco Giants at Chicago Cubs
Kyle Hendricks used to be one of the best pitchers for the Cubs, but that isn’t the case anymore. Over Hendrick's last three starts he has given up 18 runs total. The Giants are a team that beats up on bad pitchers, and it won’t be any different in this game. Back the Giants to win this game on the money line.
Play: Giants ML’
Washington Nationals at Pittsburgh Pirates
The Nationals and Pirates have both been untrustworthy this year, but this is a game where I think we can trust the Nationals. Steven Brault gets the start for the Pirates and he sits with an ERA of 5.61. Back the Pirates.
Play: Pirates ML
Colorado Rockies at Philadelphia Phillies
German Marquez was pitching better early in the season, but he has really struggled as of late. Over Marquez’s last three starts he has given up 13 runs total and the Phillies bats are going to tee off on him. Back the Phillies on the money line.
Play: Phillies ML
Toronto Blue Jays at Baltimore Orioles
Runs are going to be hard to come by in this game. Chris Ellis gets the start for the Orioles and in limited action, he sits with a 2.16 ERA. On the other side of this matchup is Robbie Ray who sits with an 11-5 record and an ERA of 2.60. The Orioles bats have been inconsistent, and they will struggle to score in this game. Back the under.
New York Yankees at New York Mets
This weekend is the subway series between the New York Yankees and New York Mets. The Yankees have really struggled winning two of their last ten games, and a big reason has been the lack of scoring. The Yankees will struggle to score against Tylor Megill and the Mets will win this game.
Play: Mets ML
Tampa Bay Rays -165 at Detroit Tigers +140 Total: 9.5
Michael Wacha at times has been a bit inconsistent but he has been pitching better as of late. Over Wacha’s last two starts he has gone 10.1 innings giving up only three runs. Heading into Thursday’s game the Tigers averaged only 3.5 runs in their previous four games. Look for the Tigers to struggle to score and that will be the difference. Back the Rays on the run line.
Play: Rays -1.5
Milwaukee Brewers -132 at Cleveland Indians +126 Total: 9.5
The Brewers should have no issue in this game. The Indians struggled to score against the Twins and it’s not going to be any different in this game. Look for Eli Morgan to get hit hard by the Brewers, and they will get the job done.
Play: Brewers ML
Miami Marlins at Atlanta Braves
Trevor Rogers early in the season was one of the best pitchers in baseball. But he hasn’t been as strong his last few starts. In Rogers last start against the Phillies he went 4.1 innings giving up six hits and two runs. The Braves are the better offensive team and they will get the job done in thai game.
Play: Braves ML
Kansas City Royals at Minnesota Twins
There will be no shortage of scoring in this game. Daniel Lynch gets the start for the Royals he currently sits with an ERA of 5.29. Griffin Jax also probably won’t have a spot in next years rotation as he sits with an ERA of 6.75. Two of the last three games involving Jax have had at least 11 runs scored. Back the over.
Boston Red Sox at Chicago White Sox
The White Sox lost their last two games against the Oakland Athletics, and they scored only a total of two runs in those games. The White Sox’s cold bats aren’t going to get any better going against Tanner Houck. Back the Red Sox on the money line.
Play: White Sox ML
Los Angeles Angels +158 at Houston Astros -190 Total: 8
The Angels are going to be a popular dog in this game, but they should be. Shohei Ohtani gets the start for the Angels and he sits with a 9-1 record and an ERA of 2.97. I know Framber Valdez has been good, but Ohtani hasn’t lost many games that he have started. Back the Angels on the money line.
Play: Angels ML +158
Cincinnati Reds -141 at St. Louis Cardinals +120 Total: 8.5
Jon Lester seems to have hit the fountain of youth in his last few starts. Over Jon Lester’s last three starts he has gone 16.2 innings giving up only three runs. The Cardinals will give Lester enough run support, and they will pull the upset.
Play: Cardinals ML +120
Texas Rangers +155 at Oakland Athletics -185
People might be tempted to take the Texas Rangers because Glenn Otto has pitched well in his two starts, but the Rangers haven’t given him any run support. The Rangers haven’t given him run support, and it won’t be any different in this game. Back the A’s.
Play: A’s ML
San Diego Padres +140 at Los Angeles Dodgers -170 Total: 8
The Los Angeles Dodgers offense has started to struggle all of a sudden, and it seems to have come out of nowhere. The Padres send Joe Musgrove to the mound and over his last two starts he has gone 14.1 innings giving up only two runs. The Dodgers bats will be awful again and the padres will pull the upset.
Play: Padres ML +140
Arizona Diamondbacks at Seattle Mariners
There have been no starting pitchers announced for this game.
