It’s a lighter slate of games across the MLB on Thursday with only eight games taking place. Let’s take a look at a free pick on each of the games to put some money in your pocket.
Los Angeles Dodgers at St. Louis Cardinals
The Los Angeles Dodgers are going to run up the score in this game. Kwang-Hyun Kim gets the start for the Cardinals and over his last two appearances he has gone three innings giving up nine hits and six runs. The Dodgers are going to tee off on him, and win this game on the run line.
Play: Dodgers -1.5
Chicago White Sox +120 at Oakland Athletics -130 Total: 9
The wrong team is favored in this game. Reynaldo Lopez gets the start for the Chicago White Sox and he sits with a 3-1 record and an ERA of 2.08. The White Sox are going to lock down the A’s offense and they will pull the upset.
Play: Chicago White Sox +120
Minnesota Twins +125 at Cleveland Indians -135 Total: 9
Randy Dobnak gets the start for the Minnesota Twins, and that is bad news for the underdogs. Dobnak’s last start came against the Tampa Bay Rays and he went seven innings giving up six hits and five runs. The Indians offense will tee off on him, and Cleveland will win this game on the run line.
Play: Indians -1.5
New York Mets -156 at Miami Marlins +143 Total: 7.5
I don’t love this price for the Mets, but they are the play. Marcus Stroman has been one of the bright spots for the Mets, and over his last three starts he has given up seven runs total. The Marlins are one of the worst offenses in baseball and they are going to have issues against Stroman.
Play: Mets ML
Kansas City Royals +115 at Baltimore Orioles -125 Total: 9.5
This is way too good of a price for the Orioles. John Means did have some struggles a couple of weeks ago, but he is back to pitching well. Each of Means last two starts he has given up two runs, and with the Royals bats, they aren’t going to improve on that. The Orioles are the play on the money line, but they also offer value on the run line.
Play: Orioles ML
Toronto Blue Jays +105 at New York Yankees -114 Total: 9.5
This might be the worst game of the board in terms of betting. The big question with Jose Berrios has been his inconsistency. But overall this season he has had more good starts than bad. The Yankees bats haven’t been as hot as of late, and they are going to struggle to score in this game. Back the Blue Jays as underdogs.
Play: Blue Jays ML +105
Colorado Rockies +160 at Philadelphia Phillies -180 Total 8.5
Ranger Suarez has found a lot of success this season sitting with a 6-4 record overall and an ERA of 1.38. The Rockies are averaging only 3.29 yards per game on the road, and they are going to struggle in this game. The Phillies offense is going to do enough to win this game on the run line. The under will also cash.
Play: Phillies -1.5
Washington Nationals +188 at Atlanta Braves -207 Total: 10
Both teams are going to find offensive success in this game. Huascar Ynoa in the last game went 5.2 innings giving up four runs. Erick Fedde has given up 13 runs total over his last two starts and this game is going to be a shootout. Back the over.
