Saturday is another full slate of games across the MLB and there is plenty of value in terms of MLB picks. Let’s take a look at a free MLB pick on each of the games.
Baltimore Orioles +260 at New York Yankees -323 Total: 10
The Orioles as big underdogs have the value on Sunday. Chris Ellis hasn’t had a ton of play this year, but he is coming off a big start in his last game .Ellis went 4.2 innings and he gave up only one run and that came by home run. The Orioles have won 41 games this year, and they will pick up another one.
Play: Orioles +260
New York Mets -170 at Washington Nationals +155 Total: 6.5 (Game 1)
I don’t love laying this number with the Mets, but I don’t think there is any other way to bet the game. Marcus Storman has given up only two runs each of his last two starts and the Mets are going to get the job done after his start.
Play: Mets -170
Pittsburgh Pirates at Chicago Cubs
The Pittsburgh Pirates are going to run up the score in this game. In Kyle Hendricks last start he went 4.2 innings giving up seven hits and eight runs. The Pirates will find success against him early, and they will come away with the victory.
Play: Pirates ML
Oakland Athletics +146 at Toronto Blue Jays -156 Total: 9
There are plenty of better options to bet on the board. The Toronto Blue Jays send Jose Berrios to the mound and he has been so inconsistent this season. Two starts ago Berrios went three innings giving up nine hits and four runs. In the last start, Berrios went seven innings against the Tigers giving up six hits and zero earned runs. I don’t feel comfortable laying this type of number with the Blue Jays. Back the A’s.
Play: A’s ML +146
Minnesota Twins +180 at Tampa Bay Rays -208 Total: 9
The Twins are going to pull the upset in this game. Andrew Albers has made two starts this year for the Twins and he has been strong going 9.1 innings total giving up five hits and one run. The Rays will struggle to score against Albers and the Twins will pull the big upset.
Play: Twins ML +180
Cleveland Indians +170 at Boston Red Sox -189 Total: 10
Both teams are going to run up the score in this game. Boston is one of the top offenses in baseball averaging 5.01 runs per game. Eli Morgan gets the start for the Indians and he comes into this game with a 5.98 ERA. Look for the Indians to also find offensive success and the over will cash.
New York Mets at Washington Nationals - Game 2
There have been no starting pitchers announced for this game.
Philadelphia Phillies -120 at Miami Marlins +100 Total: 7.5
The Phillies really should be -150 or -160 in this game. Ranger Suarez gets the start for the Phillies and he sits with an ERA of 1.48. Over Suarez’s last two starts he has gone 12 innings total giving up two runs. The Marlins bats are going to have no chance in this game.
Play: Phillies ML
St. Louis Cardinals +120 at Milwaukee Brewers -141 Total: 8.5
This game is a true toss up, and that means I am rolling with the underdog. Outside of Thursday’s game, the Cardinals have gotten good pitching and they are going to have that happen again in this game. Kwayng-Hyng Kim has found success this season sitting with an ERA of 3.23. Back the Cardinals.
Play: Cardinals ML +120
Detroit Tigers +178 at Cincinnati Reds -198 Total: 9
Matthew Boyd and Tyler Mahle have similar ERA’s but the one big difference has been the run support each pitcher has received. The Tigers are averaging only 4.31 runs per game and on the road that number drops down to 4.10. Look for the Tigers to struggle in this game.
Play: Reds ML
Chicago White Sox -161 at Kansas City Royals +140 Total: 9
The Chicago White Sox are going to dominate this game. Reynaldo Lopez currently sits with an ERA of 1.54 and a 3-1 record. The Royals offense are going to have all kinds of issues scoring, and the White Sox are going to win this game on the run line.
Play: White Sox -1.5
Seattle Mariners at Arizona Diamondbacks
There have been no starting pitchers named for this game.
Atlanta Braves -115 at Colorado Rockies -105 Total: 10.5
The Colorado Rockies are a much better team at home and a big reason has been their offense that is averaging 5.89 runs per game at home. The Rockies offense will get to Ian Anderson and come away with the victory.
Play: Rockies ML -105
Houston Astros +106 at San Diego Padres -115 Total: 8
The Padres have really fallen off the last month, and this isn’t a place I trust them to find success. Framber Valdez has been lights out all season and he currently sits with a 9-4 record and an ERA of 2.91. The Astros will pull off the upset because of the strong pitching outing.
Play: Astros ML +106
Los Angeles Dodgers at San Francisco Giants
Runs are going to be hard to come by in this game. Julio Urias has been lights out this year sitting with a 15-3 record and an ERA of 3.17. The under is 3-1-1 in the last five meetings between the Dodgers and Giants.
Texas Rangers +149 at Los Angeles Angels -163 Total: 8.5
There will be plenty of runs scored in this game. Kolby Allard has been awful this year sitting with an ERA of 5.01. Jose Suarez sits with a 4.10 ERA and the Rangers will help enough to push this game over. The over is 4-0-1 in the Rangers last five games overall.
