Pittsburgh Pirates +105 at Chicago Cubs -125
The Pittsburgh Pirates are going to find success against the Chicago Cubs because of the pitching. Steven Brault is coming off a bad start where he gave up seven runs, but in the two previous games he had given up only one run total. Back the Pirates to pull the upset.
Play: Pirates ML +105
New York Mets -145 at Washington Nationals +134 Total: 9
There will be plenty of runs scored in this game. Rich Hill is usually good for giving up two or three runs in five innings or less. For Sean Nolin he has also been inconsistent and doesn’t really go deep in games. Both bullpens are questionable at best, and this over is going to cash with ease.
Play: Over
Baltimore Orioles +190 at New York Yankees -222 Total: 9
The Baltimore Orioles are way too big of underdogs in this game. John Means did have some struggles a couple of weeks ago, but he is pitching better again. In his last start, Means went 6.1 innings giving up five hits and two runs. Look for the Yankees bats to be cold against the Orioles.
Play: Orioles ML +190
Oakland Athletics +122 at Toronto Blue Jays -133 Total: 9
Sean Manaea is going to get lit up in this game by the Toronto Blue Jays. In his last start, he went 4.1 innings giving up seven hits and five runs. The A’s scored eight runs on Wednesday, and they will run up the score in this game. Back the over.
Play: Over
Minnesota Twins +155 at Tampa Bay Rays -175 Total: 9
Randy Dobnak is coming off the IL but when he did pitch earlier this season he really struggled. Michael Wacha has been up and down this season, but he is facing a Twins offense that couldn’t get anything going against the Chicago Cubs. The Rays are going to win this game on the run line.
Play: Rays -1.5
Cleveland Indians at Boston Red Sox
The Cleveland Indians have turned around their season a bit and they have won seven of their last ten games. The problem for the Indians though, is they are facing a good pitcher in this game. Nathan Eovaldi over his last three starts has given up only five runs total. Back the Red Sox on the money line.
Play: Red Sox ML
Detroit Tigers +150 at Cincinnati Reds -170 Total: 9.5
This total is too high. The Tigers offense has been an issue all season averaging only 4.28 runs per game which is 20th in baseball. Vladimir Gutierrez is coming off a bad start, but overall he has been pretty good this season, sitting with an ERA of 4.03. I also only expect the Reds to only score four or five runs and the under will cash.
Play: Under
Philadelphia Phillies -146 at Miami Marlins +134 Total: 7.5
How the Phillies are only -146 is beyond me. Kyle Gibson has been strong this season and over his last 14 innings he has given up only one run. The Phillies are going to give him run support off of Jesus Luzardo who sits with an ERA of 7.19.
Play: Phillies ML
Chicago White Sox at Kansas City Royals
Over the last ten games, the Kansas City Royals have won five games, and they are going to pick up another win in this game. Dallas Keuchel has given up 12 runs total over his last six innings. The Royals bats are going to have no issue running up the score and it wouldn’t be shocking if they score seven or eight runs.
Play: Royals ML
St. Louis Cardinals +150 at Milwaukee Brewers -169 Total: 7.5
Not often do we see totals lower than 7,5 but this should really be set at 5.5. Both offenses are going to have real issues scoring in this game. Adam Wainwright sits with an ERA of 2.97 and Freddy Perelta sits with an ERA of 2.45. This feels like a 2-1 or 3-1 type of game.
Play: Under
Atlanta Braves -130 at Colorado Rockies +120 Total: 12
This game is at Coors Field, but this total is too high. Antonio Senzatela hasn’t been elite this season, but his ERA is only 4.18. Huascor Ynoa is going to be the reason though that this game stays under because he hasn’t given up many runs.
Play: Under
Texas Rangers +175 at Los Angeles Angels -210 Total: 8.5
Glenn Otto will be making his second major league start and in his first game, he was lights out. Otto went five innings giving up two hits, and zero runs while striking out seven. Shohei Ohtani has also been strong all season, sitting with an 8-1 record overall and an ERA of 3.00. Both offenses are going to have some major issues scoring runs.
Play: Under
Los Angeles Dodgers at San Francisco Giants
The San Francisco Giants scored five runs on Thursday, but overall this has been an offense that has really struggled the last week. In the previous four games, the GIants only scored five runs. The Giants are going to struggle to score against David Price, and the Dodgers will win this game.
Play: Dodgers ML
Seattle Mariners at Arizona Diamondbacks
There have been no starting pitchers named for this game.
Houston Astros -140 at San Diego Padres +129 Total: 9
For some reason the San Diego Padres decided that signing Jake Arrieta would be a good idea, and it hasn't worked out. In Arrieta’s last start he went 3.1 innings giving up seven hits and five runs. Look for the Astros to run up the score against him, and they will win this game on the run line.
Play: Astros -1.5
