St. Louis Cardinals at Cincinnati Reds - Game 1
This is the makeup game from Tuesday, but there have been no starting pitches announced for this game.
Colorado Rockies -130 at Texas Rangers +120 Total: 9
The Rockies really should be -150 or -160 in this game. Kyle Freeland has a higher ERA of 4.17 but he is still the better pitcher in this game. In Freeland’s last start against the Dodgers, he went six innings giving up two runs. The Rangers offense has been an issue this season averaging only 3.87 runs per game. The Rangers' lack of offense will lead to the Rockies winning this game.
Play: Rockies ML
San Diego Padres -225 at Arizona Diamondbacks +203 Total: 8.5
There is no chance the Padres should be this big of favorites in this game. Yu Darvish has been inconsistent as of late and over his last two starts he has gone 8.2 innings giving up nine total runs. This might not be a very popular pick, but the Diamondbacks will pull the upset.
Play: Diamondbacks ML +203
Houston -Astros -125 at Seattle Mariners +115 Total: 8.5
The Houston Astros are playing good baseball coming into this game having won seven of their last ten games. Jake Odorizzi isn’t having an elite season, but he has still been good enough, especially as of late, Over Odorizzi’s last two starts he has gone 10.2 innings giving up only three runs total. Back the Astros.
Play: Astros ML -125
St. Louis Cardinals +138 at Cincinnati Reds -151 (Game 2)
Since this is the second game of a doubleheader, the game will be only seven innings long. Runs are going to be very hard to come by in this game. J.A. Happ has been pitching well as of late giving up only four runs over his last three starts. Wade Miley has also been pitching well and faces a Cardinals team that is ranked 25th in terms of runs scored per game. Back the under.
Play: Under
Philadelphia Phillies -179 at Washington Nationals +160 Total: 8.5
The Washington Nationals are going to pull the upset in this game. Aaron Nola has been inconsistent this season, and some might say it’s been a disappointing season for him. Paolo Espino is coming off a start where he gave up only a run in his last three starts. Look for the Nationals to get the job done after a strong start by Espino.
Play: Nationals ML +160
Baltimore Orioles +228 at Toronto Blue Jays -255 Total: 10
I don’t want to lay this number with the Blue Jays, but it’s really the only way to bet this game. Matt Harvey has been awful for the Orioles, and the Blue Jays offense should tee off on him. On Monday the Blue Jays scored seven runs and they should get to that number in this game. Back the Blue Jays on the run line.
Play: Blue Jays -1.5
New York Yankees -245 at Los Angeles Angels +220 Total: 8.5
Gerrit Cole has gotten it figured out again and over his last two starts, he has gone 12 innings total giving up zero runs. Three starts ago, Cole went 5.2 innings giving up two hits and one run. The Angels bats are going to be ice cold again in this game, and the Yankees are going to win this game on the run line.
Play: Yankees -1.5
Oakland Athletics -161 at Detroit Tigers +140 at Total: 9.5
Runs are going to be hard to come by in this game. James Kappielian gets the start for the A’s and he sits with a 3.65 ERA. For the Detroit Tigers it’s Wily Peralta who sits with an ERA of 3.63. Over the last three games, the Tigers are averaging only 1.67 runs per game. Back the under.
Play: Under
Boston Red Sox -149 at Tampa Bay Rays +130 Total: 8
Vegas has gotten another line wrong with Chris Sale on the mound. Sale has been lights out this season and in 15.1 innings he has given up only four runs total. The Rays are going to struggle to score runs against Sale, and the Red Sox will win this game on the money line.
Play: Red Sox ML
Miami Marlins +160 at New York Mets -180 Total: 7.5
Runs are going to be very hard to come by in this game. Carlos Carrasco is coming off a strong start in his last game going seven innings giving up two runs. Zach Thompson also has a low ERA sitting with a 3.16 ERA. Both of these offenses have had issues and the under is going to cash.
Play: Under
Pittsburgh Pirates +275 at Chicago White Sox -333 Total: 9
The Chicago White Sox are big favorites, but they should be. Carlos Rodon has been strong this season sitting with a 10-5 record and an ERA of 2.43. In Mitch Keller’s last game he went 5.1 innings giving up six hits and seven runs. The White Sox will destroy Keller and they will win this game -2.5.
Play: White Sox -2.5
Chicago Cubs at Minnesota Twins
Joe Ryan is getting the call up for the Minnesota Twins and he has been a strikeout machine in the minor leagues and was a big reason the United States won the silver medal in the Olympics. The Cubs are going to struggle to score runs against Ryan, and the Twins will win this game on the money line.
Play: Twins ML
Milwaukee Brewers +120 at San Francisco Giants -140 Total: 7.5
The Brewers offense has been inconsistent all season, and they are going to have issues going against Kevin Gausman. Gausman sits with an ERA of 2.49 and in his last start he went six innings giving up two runs. Look for the Giants on the money line.
Play: Giants ML
Cleveland Indians at Kansas City Royals
There have been no starting pitchers announced for this game.
Atlanta Braves +170 at Los Angeles Dodgers -189 Total: 7.5
The Dodgers should be closer to -240 or -250 in this game. Max Scherzer seems to have found the fountain of youth since joining the Los Angeles Dodgers. Over Scherzer’s last three starts he has gone 18.2 innings giving up only three runs total. The Braves might be shut out in this game, and the Dodgers will win the game on the run line.
Play: Dodgers -1.5
