Tuesday is a full slate of MLB games and there is plenty of value across the board for MLB picks. Let’s take a look at a free MLB pick on each of the games to make your night a winning one.
St. Louis Cardinals +130 at Cincinnati Reds -149 Total: 9
This total is too high. Miles Mikolas sits with an ERA of 2.70 while Sonny Gray sits with a 6-6 record and an ERA of 3.91. Over Gray’s last two starts he has gone 13 innings total giving up only four hits and zero runs. The Cardinals offense hasn’t been great this season averaging only 4.14 runs per game. Back the under.
Play: Under
Philadelphia Phillies -115 at Washington Nationals -105 Total: 9
Both offenses are going to have no issues scoring runs in this game. Both of the pitchers starting in this game having an ERA over six. Over the last three games the Phillies are averaging seven runs per game. Back the over.
Play: Over
Baltimore Orioles +290 at Toronto Blue Jays -340 Total: 9.5
The Orioles have been awful this season, but this is a great chance to take a shot on them as such large underdogs. Hyun-jin Ryu is still a decent pitch for the Blue Jays, but he has been inconsistent this season and in his last start he gave up seven runs. The Orioles will get to Ryu and pull the upset.
Play: Orioles ML +290
Miami Marlins at New York Mets
Both of these teams are struggling coming into this game. The Marlins haven’t announced a starting pitcher yet in this game, but if the Mets aret the favorite, I just don’t trust them laying any sort of number. Back the Marlins to find enough offense.
Play: Marlins ML
Oakland Athletics -116 at Detroit Tigers +107 Total: 9
The Tigers lost again on Monday against the Twins, and it was the offense that really let them down scoring only two runs.. Runs aren't going to be getting any easier in this game against Cole Irvin who sits with an ERA of 3.68. Look for the A’s to win a low scoring game behind a strong outing from Irvin.
Play: A’s ML -118
Boston Red Sox at Tampa Bay Rays
The Boston Red Sox have a tough matchup against Ryan Yarbough who has been pitching better as of late. In Yarbough's last two starts he has given up two runs total. Look for the lack of scoring by the Red Sox lead to the Rays getting the job done.
Pittsburgh Pirates +235 at Chicago White Sox -270 Total: 9
I hate the odds for the Chicago White Sox, but I don’t think there is any other way to bet on this game. Lucas Giolito has gone 13 innings total over his last 13 innings giving up only three runs total. The Pirates are the worst team in baseball in terms of offense averaging only 3.59 runs per game. The lack of the scoring by the Pirates will lead to the White Sox cruising.
Play: White Sox -2.5
Colorado Rockies -125 at Texas Rangers +115 Total: 8.5
The fact the Rangers keep running out Jordan Lyles to pitch is a bit shocking because he has been awful this season. In Lyles last start he went 3.2 innings giving up nine hits and eight runs. Now Austin Gomber hasn’t been great, but he is usually giving up only three or four runs a game. The Rockies will give Gomber enough run support to secure a victory.
Play: Rockies ML -125
Chicago Cubs +120 at Minnesota Twins -140 Total: 9.5
The Twins have had their struggles this year, but not as many as the Cubs. The problem for the Twins though is they are going to have to score a ton of runs if they want to get the victory. John Gant gets the start and over his last 7.1 innings he has given up eight runs. Look for the Twins to give Gant some run support, and the over will cash.
Play: Over
Cleveland Indians at Kansas City Royals
No starting pitchers have been announced for this game.
San Diego Padres -168 at Arizona Diamondbacks +140 Total: 8.5
Blake Snell has been inconsistent this year, but he is pitching better as of late. Over his last 12.2 innings he has given up only four runs. Zac Gallen hasn’t gotten a ton of run support this season sitting with a 2-7 record. I expect runs are going to be hard to come by, and the under will cash.
Play: Under
Atlanta Braves +147 at Los Angeles Dodgers -177 Total: 8
The Braves and Dodgers will both struggle to score in this game. Walker Buehler sits with an ERA of 2.02 and Charlie Morton sits with an ERA of 3.60. Away from home the Braves runs drops to 4.66 runs per game, and they will finish much lower than that in this game. Back the under.
Play: Under
Milwaukee Brewers -115 at San Francisco Giants +105 Total: 7.5
We have been riding the GIants the last couple of weeks, but I am going to jump off the bandwagon for at least one game. Brandon Woodruff is the much better pitcher in this game, and he will lock the GIants offense that is inconsistent. On Sunday the Gants scored zero runs, and they aren’t getting much higher than that in this game.
Play: Brewers ML -115
Houston Astros -149 at Seattle Mariners +139
The Astros are going to run up the score in this game. Yusei Kikuchi hasn’t had the best year and over his last two starts he has given up 11 runs total. Houston is averaging 5.35 runs per game, and the Mariners' pitching will have no answer. Back the Astros -1.5.
Play: Astros -1.5
