It’s a full slate of games across the MLB on Sunday and there is plenty of value across the board in terms of free MLB picks. Let’s take a look at a free MLB pick on each of the games to make the end of your weekend a winning one.
Arizona Diamondbacks +160 at Philadelphia Phillies -175 Total: 8.5
There are going to be very few runs scored in this game. On the mound for the DBacks is Madison Bumgarner who was strong two starts ago against the Philadelphia Phillies giving up only one run in eight innings. Away from home this season the Diamondbacks have really struggled to score points averaging only 3.87 runs per game. Back the under.
Tampa Bay Rays at Baltimore Orioles
The Tampa Bay Rays have one of the top offenses in baseball averaging 5.31 runs per game. On the mound for the Orioles is Spenser Watkins who currently sits with an ERA of over seven. The Rays offense is going to tee off on him, leading to a victory on the run line.
Play: Rays -1,5
St. Louis Cardinals -169 at Pittsburgh Pirates +150 Total: 8.5
The Cardinals not being bigger favorites is a bit shocking. The Cardinals bats are going to have no issue running up the score against Wil Crowe. Crowe sits with an ERA of 5.46 and he is going to be destroyed in this game. I am betting this game all the way up to Cardinals -3.5 but the official play is Cardinals -1.5.
Play: Cardinals -1.5
Cincinnati Reds -169 at Miami Marlins +150 Total: 8
This is a great chance to take the Marlins to pull the upset. Jesus Luzardo hasn’t been great this season, but the Reds are only batting .232 against left handed pitchers. The Reds bats will stay cold in this game leading to the Marlins upset.
Play: Marlins ML +150
Toronto Blue Jays -161 at Detroit Tigers +140 Total: 9.5
Jose Berrios has really been struggling. Over Berrios last 12.1 innings he has given up 12 runs total. The Tigers bats have been cold, but that all should change in this game. The Tigers will get to Berrios early, and pull off the upset.
Play: Tigers ML +140
Boston Red Sox -149 at Cleveland Indians +130 Total: 9.5
Over the last three games the Boston Red Sox are averaging 7.33 runs per game. Eli Morgan is on the mound for the Indians, and in his last start he went 4.1 innings giving up eight hits and four runs. Look for the Red Sox to run up the score, the Indians will have no answer with their offense, and the over will cash.
Play: Red Sox -1.5
Washington Nationals +160 at New York Mets -179 Total: 8.5
Why is Vegas still laying this type of number with the New York Mets. The Mets have won only two of their last ten games, and on Friday night the offense could only score one run. Tyler Megill’s ERA isn’t awful sitting with an ERA of 4.07, but he only has a 1-3 record because he hasn’t gotten the run support. The Mets will be ice cold, and the Nationals will pull the upset,
Play: Nationals ML +160
San Francisco Giants at Atlanta Braves
Ian Anderson is returning from injury, and he is going to have some issues against the Giants bats. These two teams combined for 11 runs scored, and runs should come pretty easily for both teams.
Chicago Cubs +180 at Chicago White Sox -200 Total: 8.5
One issue for Kyle Hendricks this season has been his inconsistency. In tow of his last three starts he has given up at least nine hits and four runs, but in the other start he went six innings giving up three hits and one run. It doesn’t seem to matter who the White Sox are facing, their offense is strong. This is going to be a game where Hendricks struggles, and the White Sox will cruise to the victory.
Play: White Sox -1.5
Milwaukee Brewers -141 at Minnesota Twins +120 Total: 10
This total should be closer to 12. At home this season the Twins are averaging 4.72 runs per game and have a juicy matchup going against Aaron Ashby. Griffin Jax is young and that has led to a lot of inconsistency. Look for the Brewers who are hitting .256 this month to get to Jax. Back the over.
Colorado Rockies at Los Angeles Dodgers
The Rockies have been playing good baseball winning seven of their last ten games. Even with the success, they are going to have a lot of issues keeping this game close. Antonio Senzatela. Sits with a 2-9 record overall. One issue has been the lack of run support. The Rockies average only 3.21 runs per game on the road. The Rockies offense will let them down in this game. Back the Dodgers on the run line.
Play: Dodgers -1.5
Houston Astros -233 at Texas Rangers +195 Total: 9
There are plenty of better games on the board. The Astros are such big favorites, but they should be. Zack Greinke has given up only three runs over his last 19 innings. The Rangers are averaging only 3.61 runs per game, and the lack of scoring will lose it for them. Back the Astros on the run line.
Play: Astros -1.5
Kansas City Royals +150 at Seattle Mariners -169 Total: 8.5
The Royals are too big of underdogs in this game. Over his last two starts, Brady Singer gave up only three earned runs total. The Mariners bats aren’t going to find enough success to get the job done. Back the Royals.
Play: Royals ML
New York Yankees -145 at Oakland Athletics +125 Total: 9
Runs are going to be hard to come by in this game. Paul Blackburn’s ERA doesn’t look the best, but over his last two starts he has given up only five runs total. Jordan Montgomery has given up only four runs toal over his last three starts. Look for the bats to be cold and the under will cash.
