There are 26 teams and 14 games on the schedule for Thursday, August 12th, 2021 in the MLB. Let's take a look at each of these games and make some free betting picks.

St. Louis Cardinals -130 Pittsburgh Pirates +110 Total: 9.5

I will take a shot with the Pirates here getting plus money at home. The Cardinals' Wade LeBlanc has pitched well so far but I think we see him regress as this season comes to a close.

Pick: Pittsburgh Pirates +110

Game One Washington Nationals +155 New York Mets -180 Total: 8.5

In yet another doubleheader for the Mets, I think the Nationals win game one and the Mets grab game two. I do not trust the Mets' Trevor Williams and think the Nationals will win the game he pitches in.

Pick: Washington Nationals +155

Los Angeles Dodgers -170 Washington Nationals +150 Total: 9.5

Although the Dodgers have controlled this series so far, I will take my chances with the home dog in Philadelphia. Ranger Suarez of the Phillies has been lights out and he sets the bullpen up well. I think the Phillies' bats come to play and earn a much-needed victory in front of the home crowd.

Pick: Philadelphia Phillies +150

Oakland Athletics -160 Cleveland Indians +140 Total: 10

The A's are on fire and I think they earn another win over the lowly Indians on Thursday. The Indians' Eli Morgan will more than likely be in trouble in this one and I expect a comfortable victory for Oakland on the road.

Pick: Oakland A's -160

Milwaukee Brewers -220 Chicago Cubs +180 Total: TBA

I do not love the price but I do love the way the Brewers are playing. I am fading the Cubs for the near future, as their current lineup is not strong enough to beat a majority of the teams in the National League.

Pick: Milwaukee Brewers -220

Washington Nationals +190 New York Mets -220 Total: 6.5

In the second game of this doubleheader, I like the over. I think the Mets find a victory late and I would not be surprised to see extra-innings (which is exactly what both teams want to avoid).

Pick: Over 6.5

New York Yankees +144 Chicago White Sox -166 Total 9.5

Andrew Heaney has not pitched well in a Yankees uniform and I think the lefty is in trouble against the White Sox here. This is the Field of Dreams Game and there is revenge on the line as the Yanks swept the White Sox earlier in the year in the Bronx. I'll take the White Sox on the money line.

Pick: Chicago White Sox -166

Detroit Tigers +115 Baltimore Orioles -135 Total: 10.5

The Orioles have allowed nine or more runs to their opponents in six of their last seven games. For that reason alone I am going to continue to fade the birds here as the Tigers seem to have their number.

Pick: Detroit Tigers +115

Tampa Bay Rays +110 Boston Red Sox -130 Total: 10.5

After Wednesday night's demolition, I think the Red Sox have all the momentum. Chris Sale is coming back on Saturday and things are going to start looking up for Boston, a team that has struggled as of late. I do not trust the Rays' Drew Rasmussen in this spot and think the Red Sox's bats are going to be too much.

Pick: Boston Red Sox -130

Texas Rangers +165 Seattle Mariners -195 Total: 8.5

With the Rangers' Mike Foltynewicz and the Mariners' Marco Gonzales, I expect plenty of offense and plenty of home runs. These two pitchers, although they have pitched well as of late, are known for conceding the long ball. I will take the over in this one.

Pick: Over 8.5

Cincinnati Reds +120 Atlanta Braves -140 Total: 10.5

Wednesday night's thriller was ended by an Ozzie Albies walk-off three-run homer. I think the Braves carry that momentum with another win at home in their chase for first place in the NL East. The Reds' Vlad Gutierrez is in trouble at Truist Park.

Pick: Atlanta Braves -140

Toronto Blue Jays -135 Los Angeles Angels +115 Total: 9.5

Because Shohei Ohtani is the starting pitcher for LA, this line is a lot more affordable for Blue Jay's bettors. To me, all of the value is on the much better team with arguably the better pitcher in Jose Berrios and the Jays.

Pick: Toronto Blue Jays -135

San Diego Padres -210 Arizona Diamondbacks +175 Total: 9

Again, I am not in love with this price on San Diego, but it is Padres or pass for me with Darvish on the mound. I think the Friars take care of business against the D-Backs on the road here.

Pick: San Diego Padres -210

Colorado Rockies +145 San Francisco Giants -170 Total: 8

I will take yet another dog here in the form of the Colorado Rockies with their ace, German Marquez, on the mound. The Rockies are only 13-42 on the road this season but they have been improving their game away from home each month. I think taking Colorado is worth a shot.

Pick: Colorado Rockies +145
