All 30 teams are in action in the MLB on Saturday, August 7th, 2021. Let’s take a look at each game and find some value with these free betting picks.
Seattle Mariners +165 New York Yankees -190 Total: 9.5
Here we have two starters in the Mariners' Chris Flexen and the Yankees' Andrew Heaney that have been hit or miss this season. Friday night's game was a low-scoring affair, but I think we see plenty of offense on Saturday.
Pick: Over 9.5
Chicago White Sox -210 Chicago Cubs +180 Total: TBA
I trust the White Sox’s Carlos Rodon a lot more in this spot and think the White Sox take advantage of a weak Cubs team in this rivalry spot. I'll lay the run line.
Pick: Chicago White Sox -1.5
Game One Boston Red Sox +140 Toronto Blue Jays -160 Total: 7
This is the first game of a doubleheader between the Sox and Jays. I think Boston has good value on it for game one. The Blue Jay's Robbie Ray has pitched well this season but is still allowing a good amount of home runs. I will take the plus money with the better team in my opinion.
Pick: Boston Red Sox +140
New York Mets -110 Philadelphia Phillies -110 Total: 9
Tylor Megill of the Mets has been important for this Mets rotation. I think he and the Mets bats show up for what is one of the most imperative games of the year for the Mets. I think we see some revenge on Saturday.
Pick: New York Mets -110
Texas Rangers +190 Oakland Athletics -230 Total: 8.5
The Athletics' Cole Irvin has pitched a lot better than most thought he would in 2021. The Rangers send Drew Anderson to the bump to make his first start. I will take the experienced staff and lineup here and lay the run line with Oakland.
Pick: Oakland Athletics -1.5
Game Two Boston Red Sox +120 Toronto Blue Jays -140 Total: 7
For the second game of the doubleheader, I'll lean Toronto's way. Jose Berrios of the Blue Jays is the projected starter for this one and I think he excels.
Pick: Toronto Blue Jays -140
Detroit Tigers +108 Cleveland Indians -128 Total: 10
I am going to take the plus money with the road dog here. Detroit has made bettors plenty of money in similar spots and I trust their lineup a lot more in this one.
Pick: Detroit Tigers +108
Minnesota Twins +165 Houston Astros -190 Total: 9
The Twins have kept things competitive in this series thus far but I think that ends on Saturday with a Houston victory at home. I do not trust the Twins' Michael Pineda at all in this game and think the Astros do damage early and often.
Pick: Houston Astros -190
Pittsburgh Pirates +165 Cincinnati Reds -190 Total: 10
The Reds' offense is on a roll but I cannot lay a -190 price with the worst bullpen in baseball. I'd rather take the over, as I think we can expect plenty of runs yet again on Saturday.
Pick: Over 10
San Francisco Giants +125 Milwaukee Brewers -145 Total: 7.5
I think the value is completely on San Francisco's side here. This should be a great game to watch and getting plus money with the better team makes more sense to me. The Brewers' Brandon Woodruff has not been as sharp as he was before the All-Star break and I think the Giants break through here.
Pick: San Francisco Giants +125
Kansas City Royals +145 St. Louis Cardinals -165 Total: 8.5
I do not love this price but I cannot back the Royals' Brad Keller here. The Cardinals are the slightly better team with the much better starter on the mound in Kim.
Pick: St. Louis Cardinals -165
Washington Nationals +185 Atlanta Braves -215 Total: 8.5
Although I love the way the Braves are playing, I think this one could slip through. The Nationals' Josiah Gray was a great prospect to pick up at the deadline and I think he pitches well in this spot.
Pick: Washington Nationals +185
Miami Marlins +120 Colorado Rockies -140 Total: 10.5
The Rockies are really tough to beat at Coors and that is, even more, the case for the Marlins, as the Fish own one of the worst offenses in the league.
Pick: Colorado Rockies -140
Arizona Diamondbacks +225 San Diego Padres -270 Total: 8
It may be square but I'll lay the alternate run line with the Padres here. The Diamondbacks are the worst team in baseball and do not bring much to the mound here in the form of Taylor Widener. Darvish should keep the D-Backs quiet for most of this one.
Pick: San Diego Padres -2.5
Los Angeles Angels +205 Los Angeles Dodgers -240 Total: 8.5
I am going to take more than two-to-one on my money with a competent Angels team. Although the Halos have struggled as of late, the value cannot be ignored. Jaime Barria of the Angels has been a lot better than what we saw in 2020. It is worth a shot in my opinion.
Pick: Los Angeles Angels +205
