Friday is a full slate of games across the MLB which means plenty of free MLB picks. Let’s take a look at a free MLB pick on each of the games. The MLB trade deadline is also on Friday, so some teams could be missing key players by the time these games play.
Chicago Cubs at Washington Nationals
The Cubs are really struggling right now, and the offense has been a big reason for their struggles. Look for the Cubs offense to struggle again in this game, and with Trevor Williams, on the mound, the Nationals should score plenty of runs. Even with the COVID issues with the Nationals, the home team is still going to win this game.
Play: Nationals ML
Philadelphia Phillies -135 at Pittsburgh Pirates +115 Total: 9
Vince Velasquez and Wil Crowe have both had issues this season sitting with ERA’s over 5.50. In this game, both offenses are going to run up the score, and this game is going to get out of hand early in terms of runs scored. This game very easily could have 20 runs scored. Back the over.
Kansas City Royals +175 at Toronto Blue Jays -200 Total: 10.5
Daniel Lynch has been awful this season for the Royals currently sitting with an ERA of 7.88. The Blue Jays are going to run up the score in this game, and it’s going to get out of hand early. Back the Blue Jays on the alternate run line at -2.5.
Play: Blue Jays -2.5
New York Yankees -161 at Miami Marlins +140 Total: 8.5
The Yankees were blown out on Thursday, and they are going to be defeated again in this game. Zach Thompson comes into this game with an ERA of 2.45 and the Marlins are going to get the job done in this game. Back the Marlins on the money line.
Play: Marlins ML +140
Baltimore Orioles +120 at Detroit Tigers -143 Total: 10
Matt Harvey has finally figured it out it seems and in each of the last two games he hasn’t given up a run. The Tigers offense is going to struggle to score in this game, and the Orioles will get the job done.
Play: Orioles ML +120
Boston Red Sox at Tampa Bay Rays
The Rays are going to get the job done in this game. Two starts ago against the Yankees, Perez went four innings giving up five hits and three runs. Look for the Rays offense to continue their hot run, and the Rays will get the job done.
Play: Rays ML
Cincinnati Reds -105 at New York Mets -115 Total: 8.5
Carlos Carrasco will be making his debut for the season, and I don’t trust him after such a long layoff. The Reds are coming off a sweep off the Reds, and the offense will continue the hot play. Back the Reds to get the job done on the money line.
Play: Reds ML
Milwaukee Brewers at Atlanta Braves
Runs are going to be very hard to come by in this game. Corbin Burnes sits with an ERA of 2.12 and Touki Toussant sits with an ERA of 1.32. I expect both pitchers are going to lock down, and this game will stay well under the total.
Cleveland Indians +180 at Chicago White Sox -200 Total: 8.5
The Chicago White Sox should be closer to -230 or -250 in this game. Lance Lynn gets the start for the White Sox, and he is going to lock down the Cleveland Indians offense. J.C. Mejia sits with a 7.52 ERA and the White Sox’s offense is going to get the job done in this game. Back the White Sox on the run line.
Play: White Sox -1.5
Seattle Mariners at Texas Rangers
I don’t trust Kolby Allard for the Texas Rangers and I expect the Seattle Mariners are going to find success. Over the last ten games, the Rangers have only one win, and that will lead to the Rangers getting the job done. Back the Mariners on the money line.
Play: Mariners ML
Oakland Athletics -130 at Los Angeles Angels +130 Total: 8.5
The Angels get to face off with Chris Bassitt who hasn’t been as strong as of late, and in this game, he is going to struggle. Bassitt gave up four runs his last start, and he will give up at least that in this game. Back the Angels to pull off the upset.
Play: Angels ML
Minnesota Twins -141 at St. Louis Cardinals +120 Total: 8.5
The Minnesota Twins are expected to send Jose Berrios to the mound in this game, but if he is traded, that would be out the window, and the Twins will have to turn elsewhere. Wade Leblanc is on the mound for the Cardinals and he has had some issues. If Berrios starts for the Twins, they are the play, but if he doesn’t, this is a stay-away game.
Play: Twins ML
Houston Astros -110 at San Francisco Giants -110 Total: 7.5
This game very well could end 2-1. Framber Valdez and Kevin Gausman have both been elite this season, and runs are going to be very hard to come by in this game. Framber Valdez sits with an ERA of 2.97 and Kevin Gausman sits with a 2.21 ERA. This game is going to stay under the total.
Los Angeles Dodgers -170 at Arizona Diamondbacks +150 Total: 9
The Dodgers should really be closer to -200 and they are a great value. Zac Gallen sits with an ERA of 4.80, and the Dodgers are going to run up the score against him. Back the Dodgers on the run line.
Play: Dodgers -1.5
Colorado Rockies +160 at San Diego Padres -179 Total: 8.5
I like the Rockies to pull off the upset in this game. Jon Gray has been pitching better as of late, and he is going to slow down a Padres offense that has been a bit inconsistent as of late. The Rockies are going to pull off the upset in this game with a strong performance from Gray.
