Monday is not a full slate of MLB games, and that means there is plenty of value in terms of MLB picks. Let’s take a look at a free MLB pick on each of the games.
Minnesota Twins +167 at Chicago White Sox -192 Total: 7 (Game 1)
The Minnesota Twins looked terrible against the Detroit Tigers over the weekend and it’s not going to get any better in this game. The offense is ice cold and Lance Lynn is going to lockdown. This is the type of game where you can basically name how many runs you want to lay with the White Sox. The official play is with the White Sox -2.5, but I would bet this all the way up to -4.5.
Play: White Sox -2.5
Miami Marlins at Washington Nationals
The Marlins offense has been inconsistent this season, and I don’t see any changes in this game. The Nationals are coming off a walk-off on Sunday, and they are going to score enough runs to get the job done. Back the Nationals on the money line.
Play: Nationals ML
Baltimore Orioles +185 at Tampa Bay Rays -222 Total: 9
The Baltimore Orioles got good pitching on Sunday, and it’s going to happen again in this game. Spenser Watkins might not have a big sample size, but he currently sits with an ERA of 1.74. The Orioles aren’t going to need to score many runs to get the job done. Back the Orioles to pull the big upset.
Play: Orioles ML +185
Boston Red Sox +105 at Toronto Blue Jays -125 Total: 10.5
This total is a little too high. Ross Stripling and Nick Pivetta aren’t the best pitchers in baseball, but they are both good, and this total being at 10.5 is very confusing. Look for the under to cash.
Texas Rangers -115 at Detroit Tigers -105 Total: 8.5
The Texas Rangers are going to find success in this game because of Kyle Gibson. Gibson is probably getting shipped before the trade deadline, but if this is his last start, he is going to finish it with a bang. THe TIgers offense is going to struggle to score in this game, and the Rangers are going to win.
Play: Rangers ML
New York Mets at Cincinnati Reds
The Mets won their game on Sunday, but it wasn’t that impressive, and I really don’t trust them in this game. The Mets offense has been their issue this season, and can’t be trusted Back the Reds to find enough offensive success to win this game.
Play: Reds ML
Cleveland Indians +203 at Houston Astros -225 Total: 9
The Cleveland Indians have no doubt struggled this season, but this is a good spot to bet them. Luis Garcia doesn’t go very deep in games, and the Indians will have a chance to find success against the Houston Astros. Don’t bet this one big, but Cleveland as big underdogs is the play.
Play: Indians ML +203
San Diego Padres at Atlanta Braves
Yu Darvish has had a good season, until his last couple of starts. Over Darvish’s last two starts he has gone nine innings total giving up ten runs. The Braves offense should find success against Darvish, and the Braves will win this game on the money line. I am also putting a few dollars on the Braves -1.5
Play: Braves ML
Minnesota Twins at Chicago White Sox (Game 2)
Jose Berrios is going to start the game for the Twins, and I expect the White Sox are going to struggle to score. The Twins offense also has been a problem, and the under is going to cash with ease.
Chicago Cubs +101 at St. Louis Cardinals -109 Total: 9
The Cubs gave up six runs on Sunday to the Arizona Diamondbacks, and they are going ot give up at least that number in this game. I don’t trust Alec Mills, and the Cardinals will score plenty. The Cubs should also score enough runs to push this game over the total.
Los Angeles Angels at Oakland Athletics
Shohei Ohtani has been good for the Angles, but Cole Irvin has also found some success of his own. In two of his last three starts, Irving has given up three runs or less, and runs are going to be hard to come by for the Angels. Back the under.
Pittsburgh Pirates at Arizona Diamondbacks
Two of the worst teams in baseball start their series with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Arizona DIamondbacks facing off. The Diamondbacks were able to win their game on Sunday, and their offense was the difference. In this game, The D-Backs will find success against Chase De Jong, and that will lead to the home team getting the job done.
Play: D-Backs ML
San Francisco Giants +105 at Los Angeles Dodgers -125 Total: 8
The Giants shouldn’t be the underdogs in this game, even with them playing the Dodgers. Kevin Gausman still isn’t getting enough attention for what they have done this season. In Gausman’s last start against the Washington Nationals he went six innings giving up four hits and one run. The Giants are going to win this game.
Play: Giants ML +105
