Every team is in action across the MLB on Saturday and there is plenty of value across the board in terms of free MLB picks. Let’s take a look at a free MLB pick on each of the games.
Toronto Blue Jays at Tampa Bay Rays
Ross Stripling got out to a slow start to the season, but he is playing a whole lot better as of late. Over Stripling’s last three starts he has given up only four runs total, and the Tampa Bay Rays are going to really struggle to score in this game. Look for the Blue Jays to find a way to get the job done on the money line.
Play: Toronto Blue Jays ML
Detroit Tigers at Minnesota Twins
The Minnesota Twins have really struggled at times this season, but they are going to get the job done in this game. Bailey Ober gets the start for the Blue Jays and in his last start, he went five innings giving up only two hits. Look for the Twins to give Ober some run support, and the TWins will win this game on the money line.
Play: Twins ML
Washington Nationals +170 at San Francisco Giants -189 Total: 9
The Nationals are playing good as of late, but if they want to win this game, they are going to have to run up the score. Jon Lester gets the start for the Washington Nationals and he has had issues this season sitting with a 5.34 ERA. The Nationals aren’t going to give him the run support that he needs, and the Giants will win this ease. Back The San Francisco Giants on the run line.
Play: Giants -1.5
Oakland Athletics -143 at Texas Rangers +125 Total: 9
Runs are going to be very hard to come by in this game. The Rangers aren’t a great offensive team, and they won’t find a whole lot of offensive success in this game. Mike Foltynewicz gets the start for the Texas Rangers, and in two of his last three starts he has given up only two runs. Look for a low scoring game that stays under the total.
Chicago White Sox -208 at Baltimore Orioles +190 Total: 10
This total should be closer to six or seven runs. Thomas Eshelman gets the start for the Orioles and he comes into this game with an ERA of 7.10. Lucas Giolito gets the start for the White Sox and he has been inconsistent this year. Look for this game to go well over the total.
Pittsburgh Pirates at New York Mets Game 1
Marcus Stroman was strong to start the season, but he hasn’t been as good as of late. In his last start against the New York Mets, he went five innings giving up six hits and five earned runs. Tyler Anderson also hasn’t been great, but the Mets offense isn’t great. Look for the Pirates to find the offensive success, and Pittsburgh will win tis game on the money line.
Play: Pittsburgh ML
Atlanta Braves -120 at Miami Marlins +100 Total: 7
Trevor Rogers shouldn’t be the underdog in this game. The Marlins won three of four against the Los Angeles Dodgers, and now they send their best pitcher to the mound in this game. Rogers comes into this game with a 2.22 ERA, and he is going to lock down the Braves offense. The Marlins are going to win this game. The under is also a strong play.
Play: Marlins ML +100
Philadelphia Phillies +120 at Boston Red Sox -141 Total: 11
Martin Perez has been a strong option as a starter for the Boston Red Sox this team. In each of the last three games, Perez has given up only two runs, and he is going to slow down the Phillies offense. Back the Red Sox on the run line.
Play: Red Sox -1.5
Cincinnati Reds +175 at Milwaukee Brewers -200 Total: 8
This is a great spot for the Cincinnati Reds to pull off the big upset. Vladimir Gutiérrez gets the start for the Cincinnati Reds, and he is coming off a nice start in his last game. Gutierrez only gave up only two runs against the Royals. This isn’t a game to bet big, but look for the Reds to win this game on the money line.
Play: Reds ML
Kansas City Royals +105 at Cleveland Indians -125 Total: 9
If you love scoring, this is a game that is going to have plenty of that. Mike Minor gets the start for the Royals and he currently sits with a 5.35 ERA. Cal Quantrill is still looking for his first win of the season, and he hasn’t been strong. Both offenses are going to be strong, and the over is going to cash.
New York Yankees -105 at Houston Astros -115 Total: 8.5
The Houston Astros bats are going to run up the score in this game. Gerrit Cole has had issues the last few starts with his spin rate going down. Over the last two games, Cole has gone 8.1 innings total giving up ten runs. Look for the Astros to run up the score, and they will win this game on the run line.
Play: Astros -1.5
St. Louis Cardinals at Chicago Cubs
There were 15 runs scored in the first game of this series, but I expect this game is going to be much lower scoring. Over Zach Davies last three starts he has given up only four runs total. Kwang Hyun Kim has also been strong this season, sitting with a 3.39 ERA. Back the under to cash.
Arizona Diamondbacks +230 at Los Angeles Dodgers --250 Total: 7.5
This is a bet that is based just on the value of getting the +230. Caleb Smith sits with an ERA of 3.45, and he is going to slow down the Dodgers offense. I wouldn’t bet this game big, but the Diamondbacks have the value at plus money.
Play: D-Backs ML
Pittsburgh Pirates at New York Mets Game 2
Tylor Megill gets the start for the Mets and he really probably should be the fifth starter for this team. In his last start against the Brewers he went five innings giving up only one run. Back Megill to lead the Mets to a victory.
Play: Mets ML
Los Angeles Angels -120 at Seattle Mariners +100 Total: 8.5
Runs are going to be very hard to come by in this game. The Mariners are one of the worst offenses in baseball, and Seattle is not a high-scoring ballpark. Both pitchers starting this game have been pretty good, and the under is going to cash.
Colorado Rockies +150 at San Diego Padres -170 Total: 7.5
Joe Musgrove is having some major struggles right now and in each of the last two starts, he has struggled. In each of the last two games, Musgrove has given up five runs, and the Rockies are going to find a way to pull the upset.
Play: Rockies ML +150
