Wednesday is a loaded slate of MLB games with every team in action and a doubleheader. Let’s take a look at a free pick for each of the games.
Cleveland Indians at Tampa Bay Rays - Game 1
Since this game is part of a doubleheader, it will be only seven innings. Michael Wacha is on the mound for the Tampa Bay Rays and he has struggled in two of his last three starts. Look for the Indians to take advantage of the struggles of Michael Wacha, and for the Indians to come away with the victory.
Play: Indians ML
Atlanta Braves -168 at Pittsburgh Pirates +140 Total: 9
Both of these pitchers have had some struggles this season, and there is going to be plenty of scoring by both teams in this game. Wil Crowe comes into this game with a 6.26 ERA, and the Braves are going to take advantage. Look for this game to be higher scoring, and for the over to cash.
Play: Over
Chicago White Sox at Minnesota Twins
The White Sox have had the Twins number this year, and they are going to get another strong outing from Lance Lynn. Coming into this game Lynn sits with an ERA of 2.02, and the Twins offense is going to have some real issues getting the job done Back the White Sox on the run line.
Play: White Sox -1.5
Detroit Tigers +120 at Texas Rangers -154 Total: 8
It seems some are waiting for Kyle Gibson to fall off, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. Gibson sits with an ERA of 1.98 and a record of 6-0. Look for the Tigers to struggle to score, and the Rangers will come away with a victory in this game.
Play: Rangers -1.5
Cincinnati Reds -152 at Kansas City Royals +126 Total: 9.5
Sonny Gray hasn’t gotten a ton of run support this season, and it’s not going to change in this game. The Royals offense hasn’t been great at times this season, but they will score enough against Luis Castillo and that will be the difference in this game. Back the Royals to pull the upset.
Play: Royals ML +126
Cleveland Indians at Tampa Bay Rays - Game 2
There have been no pitchers announced for this game.
Boston Red Sox -131 at Los Angeles Angels +109 Total: 9
If you like high-scoring games, make sure to tune into this game. There were 11 runs scored in the first game and there is no reason to believe there won’t be even more scored in this game. Both starting pitchers in this game have been inconsistent, and both offenses are going to tee off. Look for Ohtani to have a big game, and for the over to cash.
Play: Over
Toronto Blue Jays -209 at Baltimore Orioles +160 Total: 10.5
Matt Harvey has been awful this season, and there is no reason to believe the Blue Jays offense isn’t going to tee off on him in this game. Over his last two starts against the Blue Jays he has given up seven runs total. Look for the Blue Jays to have no issue getting the job done, and they will win this game on the run line.
Play: Blue Jays -1.5
Los Angeles Dodgers at Miami Marlins
The Miami Marlins have won the first two games of this series, and the Marlins are going to find enough offensive success to come away with the victory.
Play: Marlins ML
Milwaukee Brewers at New York Mets
Corbin Burnes doesn’t give up a ton of runs, and the Mets offense hasn’t been a team that has scored a whole lot of runs this season. Look for the Mets to struggle to score in this game, and the visiting team will come away with the victory.
Play: Brewers ML
Philadelphia Phillies -139 at Chicago Cubs +121
The Phillies have been playing better baseball, as of late, and they are going to have offensive success in this game. Look for the Phillies to get to Alec Mills, and this game is going to be over early. Back the Phillies to win this game on the money line.
Play: Phillies ML
Oakland Athletics +124 at Houston Astros -148 Total: 9
Runs are going to be hard to come by, and this total is moving in the wrong direction. Sean Manaea and Luis Garcia have both been good this season, and they both should go deep in this game. Look for both teams to struggle to score, and the under will cash.
Play: Under
Colorado Rockies at Arizona Diamondbacks
There are plenty of better options on the board, but I expect there could be some runs scored in this game. Even though the Diamondbacks haven’t had al ot of success winning games, they have still scored runs. Back the under.
Play: Under.
St. Louis Cardinals +155 at San Francisco Giants -175 Total: 8.5
The St. Louis Cardinals offense has had issues, and it’s not something that is going to improve in this game going against Alex Wood. Look for the Giants offense to also struggle to score, and the under to cash. This game will finish at 5 or 6 runs.
Play: Under
New York Yankees -124 at Seattle Mariners +114 Total: 8.5
Domingo German is having some real issues this season, and the Seattle Mariners are going to have no issue getting the job done in this game. The Mariners are going to win this game on the money line, and taking them on the reverse run line is also worth a look.
Play: Mariners ML +114
Washington Nationals +152 at San Diego Padres -163 Total: 8.5
The San Diego Padres shouldn’t be laying this type of price with Chris Paddack on the mound. Paddack sits with an ERA of 4.56 and the Nationals are going to take advantage. Look for the Nationals to pull the upset, and the reverse run line for a few dollars also makes sense.
Play: Nationals ML
