Tuesday is a full slate of MLB games, and there is plenty of value on the board in terms of free MLB picks. Let’s take a look at the best MLB picks on each of the games, to make your Tuesday a winning one.
Atlanta Braves -170 at Pittsburgh Pirates +155 Total: 8.5
The Pittsburgh Pirates have been a value play at times this season, but this isn't one of those times. Chad Kuhl gets the start for the Pirates, and he has had issues this season sitting with a 2-5 record overall and an ERA of 5.16. Look for the Pirates to have issues early in this game scoring, and the Braves will win this game on the run line.
Play: Braves -1.5
Toronto Blue Jays at Baltimore Orioles
The Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles are going to have no issues running up the score in this game. These are both teams who have scored plenty the last couple of weeks, and it’s not going to change in this game. Back the over.
Play: Over
Cleveland Indians +145 at Tampa Bay Rays -155 Total: 9
The Tampa Bay Rays are going to have a lot of fun at the plate on Tuesday. JC Mejia gets the start for the Indians and he has had many issues this season. In his last start against the Astros he went four innings giving up five hits and six runs. The Rays are going to win this game on the run line.
Play: Rays -1.5
Los Angeles Dodgers -119 at Miami Marlins +109 Total: 7.5
Runs are going to be very hard to come by in this game. Tony Gonslin gets the start for the Dodgers sitting with a 2.81 ERA. For the Marlins it will be Pablo Lopez who sits with a 4-5 record and an ERA of 2.97. Look for both offenses to be cold in this game, and for the under to cash.
Play: Under
Philadelphia Phillies -125 at Chicago Cubs +105 Total:
Jake Arrieta is not the pitcher the Cubs were hoping they were getting when they signed him back to the team this offseason. Arrieta’s ERA is creeping up near six, and the Phillies bats are going to tee off on him. Back the Phillies.
Play: Phillies ML
Milwaukee Brewers +220 at New York Mets -240 Total: 6
Six is a low total, but with Jacob deGrom on the mound, it’s too high. Jacob deGrom has had a little more issues his last few starts, but he has still been dominant. The Mets offense has had their issues scoring runs all year, and it would be a bit shocking if this game went over three runs. Back the under.
Play: Under
Oakland Athletics +140 at Houston Astros -150 Total: 8.5
This is another game where runs are going to be very hard to come by. Framber Valdez sits with an ERA of 2.18 while Chris Bassitt sits with an ERA of 3.04. It’s a lean for the A’s to win the game, but the play is with the under to cash.
Play: Under
Detroit Tigers +152 at Texas Rangers -162 Total: 9
Dane Dunning seems to have figured it out the last few starts giving up only two runs over his last two starts. The problem though is I don’t feel comfortable laying a run and a half with the Rangers unless Kyle Gibson is on the mound. Look for this game to be lower scoring, and the under will cash.
Play: Under
Chicago White Sox -109 at Minnesota Twins -101 Total: 9
The White Sox have had the Twins number this year, and they are going to continue that success in this game. Jose Berrios last start was against the White Sox giving up ten hits and four runs in five innings. Look for the Twins to find success in this game, and get the job done.
Play: White Sox ML -110
Cincinnati Reds at Kansas City Royals
This isn’t a game that I love. Luis Castillo has pitched a little better as of late, but in two of his last three starts he has given up three runs. The Royals offense hasn’t been all that trustworthy this year, but they are going to find success in this game. Back the Royals on the money line.
Play: Royals ML
Colorado Rockies +110 at Arizona Diamondbacks -120 Total: 8.5
The wrong team is favored in this game. Jon Gray gets the start for the Rockies and he sits with a 3.89 ERA. In his last start he went six innings giving up two hits and two earned runs. The Rockies offense is also going to be good in this game. Back the Rockies to win this game on the money line.
Play: Rockies ML +110
Boston Red Sox -105 at Los Angeles Angels -105 Total: 9.5
Shohei Ohtani gets the start for the Angels and he is going to be happy to be back at his home ballpark. Shohei Ohtani comes into this game with a 3-1 record and an ERA of 3;60. Ohtani is going to find success on the mound and at the plate in this game. Not only will the Angels win this game, they will do it in a dominant fashion.
Play: Angles -1.5
New York Yankees -140 at Seattle Mariners +130 Total: 9
Both of the starting pitchers have struggled in this game, and there is going to be no shortage of runs scored in this game. Look for both teams to run up the score, and this game is going to become a shootout. This game should finish with closer to 13 or 14 runs.
Play: Over
St. Louis Cardinals +117 at San Francisco Giants -127 Total: 8
Adam Wainwright has been strong this season, and this is a great chance to take the chance with the underdog. The Cardinals offense really had some struggles over the weekend scoring, but they aren’t going to need to score many runs in this game to get the job done. Back the Cardinals as the underdog to cash.
Play: Cardinals ML +117
Washington Nationals at San Diego Padres
The Washington Nationals really struggled over the weekend against the Los Angeles Dodgers, and it’s clear at this point they have lost some confidence. The Padres bats are going to be good in this game, and come away with the victory. This is also a good spot to take the Padres on the run line, especially if the run line is solid plus money.
Play: Padres ML
