LA Dodgers Washington Nationals Total:

The Nationals will have a chance to steal one at home in this series with Joe Ross on the mound for this one. Edwin Uceta has been hit hard for the Dodgers, so look for Washington to get some revenge after getting beaten up early in the series.

Pick: Washington Nationals

Milwaukee Brewers -177 Pittsburgh Pirate +162 Total: 8

Milwaukee has been great on the road and will have the edge on the mound here. Freddy Peralta has only allowed 4 runs over his last 19 innings for the Brewers. Take Milwaukee with good value on the road.

Pick: Milwaukee Brewers -177

San Diego Padres -125 Philadelphia Phillies +115 Total: 9

Both teams have been swinging the bat well, and we will have a less than optimal matchup on the mound. San Diego’s Blake Snell and Vince Velasquez for Philadelphia have allowed double digit home runs already and over a hit per inning to start the season. Take the over.

Pick: Over 9

Tampa Bay Rays Toronto Blue Jays Total:

The Rays have struggled of late. Toronto has the edge on the mound with Robbie Ray; he has 16 strikeouts in 13 innings against this Rays lineup this season and has won his last two at home. Take Toronto to cruise to an easy win.

Pick: Toronto -1.5

Chicago White Sox -172 Detroit Tigers +157 Total: 9

Lucas Giolito has cooled off after a hot start to the year and will face a Tigers lineup that has tagged him for 5 home runs in his last two starts. The Tigers have been a competitive team of late, and present great value as the home dogs.

Pick: Detroit Tigers +157

Chicago Cubs +110 Cincinnati Reds -121 Total: 9.5

The Reds Wade Miley has limited this Cubs lineup to a .147 career average. Meanwhile Kyle Hendricks has allowed just 4 runs in his last 18 innings for Chicago. With a high total and solid matchup on the mound, take the under.

Pick: Under 9.5

Houston Astros -172 Cleveland Indians +157 Total: 9

Zack Greinke is 8-2 this season, and he has been even better on the road. He is 5-0 with a 2.06 ERA on the road and will be backed by one of the hottest lineups in baseball. Take Houston to continue their dominance of the Indians.

Pick: Houston -1.5

Miami Marlins +157 Atlanta Braves -172 Total: 8.5

The Marlins Zach Thompson has been great in limited action this season, boasting a 1.50 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 25 strikeouts in 18 IP. The Braves will send out Charlie Morton, who has been tagged for 9 runs in 10 innings against the Marlins this season. Back the road dogs.

Pick: Miami Marline +157

New York Mets New York Yankees Total: -          Game 1

The Yankees have looked bad in their series against Boston and the Angels but will have a chance to bounce back against a slumping Mets team. Gerrit Cole will be out for redemption after getting tagged in his last outing against Boston. The Mets Marcus Stroman has also pitched well this year, but look for the Yankees to get it done to open this double-header.

Pick: New York Yankees

Minnesota Twins -130 Kansas City Royals +120 Total: 10

The Twins have not played up to expectations this season, and have been even worse away from home. Brad Keller allowed just 2 runs in his last start against the Twins this season, and the Royals have had their number at home.

Pick: Kansas City Royals +120

St. Louis Cardinals +135 Colorado Rockies -145 Total: 11

Both teams have been playing well of late, but the Rockies should have the edge here at home. German Marquez is 6-1 at home and knows how to navigate a hitter-friendly park with a 3.06 ERA. Carlos Martinez has been unreliable for St. Louis thus far. Back Colorado.

Pick: Colorado Rockies -145

Baltimore Orioles +183 Los Angeles Angels -203 Total: 10

The Angels are 3-0 in Patrick Sandoval’s last three starts. The Orioles Thomas Eshelman has struggled with 2 HR and 16 hits allowed through just 12.1 innings pitched and will face on of the league’s best hitters in Shohei Ohtani. Back the Angels at home.

Pick: Los Angeles Angels -203

Boston Red Sox -105 Oakland Athletics -105 Total: 9

Boston has been one of the hottest teams in baseball and have been just as good on the road. Regardless of who is on the mound in this one, I’ll back a Boston lineup that is averaging nearly 8 runs per game over the last week.

Pick: Boston Red Sox -105

Texas Rangers +120 Seattle Mariners -130 Total: 9

Chris Flexen has been one of Seattle’s more reliable starters this year, and he has allowed just one run with 14 strikeouts in his last 14.2 innings at home. The Mariners are also averaging 5 runs per game with a .791 OPS over the last week. The Rangers are slumping, ranking near the bottom of the league with a .239 average over that same stretch.

Pick: Seattle Mariners -130

New York Mets New York Yankees Total:             Game 2

Nestor Cortes has been lights out for the Yankees, with a 1.02 ERA and 25 strikeouts over 17.2 innings. Corey Oswalt looked good in two appearances for the Mets this season, but the jury is still out on him. Take the Yankees to get back on track by completing the sweep in the double-header.

Pick: New York Yankees

San Francisco Giants -153 Arizona Diamondbacks +143 Total: 9

The Giants have gone 4-1 in Anthony DeSclafani’s last 4 starts, and he boasts a stingy 2.15 ERA on the road. San Francisco has had the edge in this series all season, and the Diamondbacks are struggling of late; they rank 25th with a .209 average over the last 7 days. Take the Giants in this one.

Pick: San Francisco Giants -153

The pick in this article is the opinion of the writer, not a PickDawgz site consensus.
