Baltimore Orioles +199 Toronto Blue Jays -219 Total: 11

The Blue Jays have been one of the best offenses in baseball this season. They rank 2nd in the majors with 112 home runs and have feasted on Orioles starter Jorge Lopez. All-time they have gone 14-32 with 3 home runs. Toronto’s starter Ross Stripling has also pitched well of late. Give me the home team.

Pick: Toronto Blue Jays -219

Los Angeles Angels +135 Tampa Bay Rays -145 Total: 8

Tampa Bay’s Ryan Yarbrough has had a rough stretch of late, but he should have an ideal matchup to get back on track here. The Angels are still without Mike Trout and are hitting just .195 as a team over the last 7 days. Their bullpen has also struggled of late with a 4.91 ERA over the last 2 weeks. Back the Rays.

Pick: Tampa Bay Rays -145

Atlanta Braves Cincinnati Reds Total:

Tyler Mahle has pitched well for the Reds this season, going 7-2 and limiting the opposition to a .217 batting average. The Braves hot bats have cooled off of late, with a .225 team batting average over the last two weeks. They have also been less effective offensively on the road. The Reds rank 1st in the majors with a .829 OPS at home.

Pick: Cincinnati Reds

Houston Astros -195 Detroit Tigers +175 Total: 9.5

The Tigers Tarik Skubal has pitched well at home but is just 1-4 this season. He will get no luck here as he will face an Astros lineup that leads the league in batting average and OPS against left-handed pitching. The Astros Jake Odorizzi has not given up a run in his last two starts.

Pick: Houston Astros -195

New York Yankees -157 Boston Red Sox +147 Total: 8.5

The Yankees Gerrit Cole has allowed just 2 runs in each of his last 3 starts. He ranks 6th in the MLB with a 0.85 WHIP this season. Eduardo Rodriguez has a 5.70 ERA at home this season, and the Yankees rank 6th in the MLB with 32 home runs against left-handed pitching this season.

Pick: New York Yankees -157

Philadelphia Phillies New York Mets Total:

Zach Wheeler has allowed just 3 runs in his last 3 starts, with 22 strikeouts over 17 innings. The Mets Jerad Eickhoff was solid in his first start since 2019 and will be backed by a bullpen that has a 2.80 ERA over the last 2 weeks. Both teams rank near the bottom of the league in scoring over the last week.

Pick: Under

Washington Nationals -130 Miami Marlins +120 Total: 6.5

This will be a great pitching matchup between the Nationals Max Scherzer and the Marlins Sandy Alcantara. They have both pitched well against these lineups, but the Nationals have been swinging the bat better of late. Over the last 7 days the Nationals are hitting .277 with 5.3 runs per game while the Marlins are hitting just .200 with 3 runs per game.

Pick: Washington Nationals -130

Cleveland Indians Minnesota Twins Total:

The Twins have not played well at home this season and will have a struggling J.A. Happ on the mound for this one. He has allowed 18 runs over his last 18.2 innings (4 starts) and will face a Twins lineup that leads the league with 38 home runs off left-handed pitching this season. Back the Indians to get it done on the road.

Pick: Cleveland Indians

Colorado Rockies +165 Milwaukee Brewers -180 Total: 9

The Rockies have been terrible on the road, with a 6-29 record heading into Saturday’s action. The Brewers are 7-3 in their last 10 home games heading into this series and will face a slumping Rockies lineup that is hitting just .201 over the last week. Give me the Brewers to win.

Pick: Milwaukee Brewers -180

Seattle Mariners +162 Chicago White Sox -177 Total: 8.5

The White Sox are 4-1 in Dallas Keuchel’s last 5 starts. He should have a plus matchup here as the Mariners rank 29th with a .217 average against lefties this season. The White Sox rank 4th against lefties and will face Marco Gonzalez who has allowed over a hit per inning in his last three starts. Take Chicago at home.

Pick: Chicago White Sox -177

Pittsburgh Pirates +135 St. Louis Cardinals -145 Total: 9

The Cardinals have not been swinging the bat well of late, but will have a great opportunity to bounce back in this one. They have hit a collective .342 with a 1.191 OPS against the Pirates starter Tyler Anderson. Johan Oviedo has pitched better at home for the Cardinals, with a 3.28 ERA and .209 OBA this season.

Pick: St. Louis Cardinals -145

Kansas City Royals -105 Texas Rangers -105 Total: 9

Neither starter has pitched well this season, with both allowing over a hit per inning with control issues as well. The Royals bullpen has also struggled with a 7.19 ERA over the last 7 days.  The over has also cashed in each game between these teams this season so we should expect more scoring in this one.

Pick: Over 9

Oakland Athletics +120 San Francisco Giants -130 Total: 8

The A’s lefty Cole Irvin has pitched well on the road but will have a bad matchup in his first game against the Giants. San Francisco ranks 2nd in the majors with a .277 average against lefties over the last two weeks and they have been one of the better teams at home this year. Their bullpen has also been on fire with a league-best 0.68 ERA and 0.80 WHIP over the last week.

Pick: San Francisco Giants -130

Arizona Diamondbacks +240 San Diego Padres -280 Total: 7.5

The Padres are heavy favorites, but the Diamondbacks have a chance in this one. They have hit Yu Darvish well all-time with a .271 team average and 8 home runs in 134 at bats. Arizona’s Zac Gallen has a .173 batting average against on the road this season. Take a chance on the road dogs.

Pick: Arizona Diamondbacks +240

Chicago Cubs +170 Los Angeles Dodgers -190 Total: 8

The Dodgers are just 1-4 in Clayton Kershaw’s recent starts. He was chased out of the game in the first inning the last time he faced the Cubs. Chicago’s Adbert Alzolay has limited this Dodgers lineup to a .188 career average. Back the Cubs.

Pick: Chicago Cubs +170

The pick in this article is the opinion of the writer, not a PickDawgz site consensus.
