It’s a lighter slate of games across the league on Thursday, but there is still plenty of value in terms of free MLB picks. Let’s take a look at a free MLB pick on each of the games.
Kansas City Royals +160 at New York Yankees -179 Total: 10
The Yankees are going to win this game because of their offense. Brad Keller gets the start for the Royals and he has really struggled this year sitting with a 6-7 record and an ERA of 6.34. Look for the Yankees offense to tee off on him, and that will be the difference in this game. Back the Yankees to come away with a victory on the run line.
Play: Yankees -1.5
Oakland Athletics -169 at Texas Rangers +141 Total: 8.5
Runs are going to be very hard to come by in this game. The Texas Rangers offense has struggled this season and now they face off with Chris Bassitt who sits with a 7-2 record and an ERA of 3.40. For the Rangers getting the start will be Kobly Allard who sits with an ERA of 2.93. Look for both teams to struggle to score in this game, and the under is going to cash in this game.
Play: Under 8.5
Baltimore Orioles at Toronto Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays haven’t been as dominant as of late, but they are facing an Orioles team that only have a few wins over their last couple of weeks.Look for the Blue Jays offense to struggle, and that will lead to the Blue Jays winning this game on the money line.
Play: Blue Jays ML
Atlanta Braves at Cincinnati Reds
Tony Santillan gets the start for the Cincinnati Reds and in his last start, even though the stats didn’t look terrible, he was having issues getting swings and misses. The Braves have some real power hitters who are going to have no issue making contact against him, and driving the ball out into the seats. Back the Braves on the run line.
Play: Braves -1.5
Boston Red Sox at Tampa Bay Rays
The home run ball has been an issue for Nick Pivetta. In his last three starts, Pivetta has given up six home runs. The Tampa Bay Rays are going to find offensive success in this game, and come away with the victory.
Play: Rays ML
Houston Astros -195 at Detroit Tigers +162 Total: 9.5
The Tigers have been playing some solid baseball winning each of their last three games, but that winning streak is coming to a close in this game. Jose Urena comes into this game with a 5.79 ERA, and the Astros offense is going to take advantage of it. Look for the Astros to come away with the victory on the run line.
Play: Astros -1.5
Washington Nationals -110 at Miami Marlins -110 Total: 8.5
The Washington Nationals are coming off a wild game on Wednesday against the Philadelphia Phillies. It was a back and forth game, that the Nationals ended up winning 13-12. If the Nationals are going to want this game they are going to need to have strong offense again because Joe Ross is on the mound who sits with an ERA of 4.54. I expect this is going to be a high scoring game by both teams, and the over is going to cash.
Cleveland Indians +150 at Minnesota Twins -170 Total: 9
The Minnesota Twins have had issues this season, but they are playing better as of late winning five of the last six games. Two games ago, the Twins scored seven runs, and in this game, the offense is going to be good again. Jean Carlos Mejia gets the start for the Indians and in his last start against the Pittsburgh Pirates, he went five innings, giving up seven hits and six runs. Look for the Twins offense to get to him, and the Twins will win this game on the run line.
Play: Twins -1.5
Pittsburgh Pirates +130 at St. Louis Cardinals -158 Total: 8.5
Carlos Martinez has been ultra inconsistent this season and he is coming off another bad start. Martinez went three innings in his last start giving up eight hits and eight runs. Chad Kuhl sits with an ERA of 5.66 and he is also going to struggle in this game. Both teams are going to find success and the over will cash.
Chicago Cubs at Los Angeles Dodgers
Zach Davies is coming off a terrible start, but each of the two starts before the last start he gave up zero runs. In this game Look for the Dodgers to struggle to score and that will lead to the Cubs getting the job done.
Play: Cubs ML
