It’s not a full slate of games across the MLB on Monday but there are still 13 games taking place. Let’s take a look at a breakdown and a free pick on each of the games.
Pittsburgh Pirates +100 at Washington Nationals -120 Total: 8.5
The Pittsburgh Pirates have had all kinds of issues this season, but this is a perfect chance to take a shot with them. Jon Lester hasn’t been good this season sitting with an ERA of 4.12. In his last game against the Tampa Bay Rays, he went only 3 2/3rd’s of an inning giving up four hits and one run. He isn’t going to go deep in this game, and the few innings he does pitch won’t be successful. Back the Pirates to win this game.

Toronto Blue Jays +105 at Boston Red Sox -125 Total: 10
The Toronto Blue jays offense was strong putting up 18 runs on Sunday. The Blue Jays get to face off with Nathan Eovaldi in this game, and in his last game, he struggled giving up 11 hits and five runs. The Blue Jays are going to run up the score in this game, and they will win this game with ease. Take the Blue Jays on the reverse run line.
Play: Blue Jays -1.5
Baltimore Orioles at Cleveland Indians
The Baltimore Orioles have had real issues this season, but they are 5-5 over their last ten games. They are facing rookie Jean Carlos Mejia who gave up three hits and four runs in 0-2 innings pitched. Look for the Orioles’ offense to find success, which will lead to them winning this game on the money line.
Play: Orioles ML
Chicago Cubs at New York Mets
The New York Mets won two of three over the weekend against the San Diego Padres, but it’s going to be a different story in this one. The Mets send David Peterson to the mound and he comes into this game with a 6.32 ERA. The Cubs offense is going to take advantage of it, which will lead to the victory on the money line.
Play: Cubs ML
Tampa Bay Rays -105 at Chicago White Sox -115 Total: 7.5
Not often are we going to get Lance Lynn at this price, and when we do we have to take advantage. Lynn comes into this game sitting with a 7-1 record and an ERA of 1.23. The White Sox are going to give Lynn enough run support to win this game on the money line. The under is also going to cash in this one.
Play: White Sox ML
Cincinnati Reds +120 at Milwaukee Brewers -141 Total: 9
The wrong team is favored in this game. The Brewers sit with an 8-2 record over their last ten games, but they are going to be defeated in this game. The Brewers have moved to a six-man rotation which means Eric Lauer is going to get the start. Lauer sits with an ERA near five, and the Reds are going to get the job done in this game. Back the Reds on the money line.
Play: Reds ML
Detroit Tigers +123 at Kansas City Royals -148 Total: 9
There is going to be plenty of scoring by both teams in this game. Brad Keller has gotten plenty of run support this season, and he sits with an ERA of 5.75. For Matthew Boyd, he has been inconsistent, and both teams are going to score plenty. Back the over to cash with ease.
Miami Marlins at St. Louis Cardinals
Braxton Garrett is going to make his third major league appearance on the bump for the Marlins. In seven innings so far this year, Garrett has given up eight runs and five runs. The Cardinals played on Sunday night baseball, but it’s a short flight home, and their bats are going to be ready in this game. Back the Cardinals to win this game on the run line.
Play: Cardinals -1.5
Los Angeles Angels +130 at Oakland Athletics -150 Total: 8
The Los Angeles Angels and Oakland Athletics are suddenly two of the hottest teams in baseball, which makes this an even more important series in the American League West. The bad news for the Angels though, is they are completely outmatched on the mound. Dylan Bundy is coming off his first win of the season, but he still sits with an ERA of 6.16. Look for the A’s to run up the score against Bundy, and the home team will win this game on the run line.
Play: Athletics -1.5
San Diego Padres -155 at Colorado Rockies +135 Total: 11.5
This total has moved up, which has opened up even more value with the under. The Padres offense is struggling, and going to Coors Field isn’t going to solve that. The Padres also send Dinelson Lamet to the mound and he currently sits with an ERA of 3.52. This game will finish at seven or eight runs, which means the under will cash with ease.
Play: Under 11.5
Minnesota Twins -140 at Seattle Mariners +120 Total: 8,5
Kenta Maeda is expected to return from the IL in this game, and it’s hard to imagine the Twins are going to stretch him out in this game. With Maeda not going deep in the game, that means plenty of time for the Twins bullpen to bow the game. The Mariners’ offense is going to be the difference as the home team wins on the money line.
Play: Mariners ML +120
Arizona Diamondbacks at San Francisco Giants
The Arizona Diamondbacks have had all kinds of issues this season, and coming into this game they have lost nine of their last ten games. At home, this season, Arizona’s offense has been better though averaging over five runs per game. Look for Arizona to find enough offensive success combined with the Giants offense to push this game over the total.
Philadelphia Phillies +150 at Los Angeles Dodgers -169 Total: 9
The Dodgers didn’t look that dominant over the weekend against the Texas Rangers. In this game, the Dodgers send out Tony Gonsolin who sits with an ERA of 5.40. He has only made one appearance this season going 1.2 innings giving up two hits and one run. Over the last two games, the Phillies have scored 15 runs total. In this game, look for the Phillies to run up the score and win this game on the reverse run line.
Play: Phillies -1.5
