It’s a full slate of games across the MLB on Sunday, which means plenty of value across the board in terms of MLB picks. Let’s take a look at a free MLB pick on each of the games.
San Francisco Giants at Washington Nationals
Joe Ross is getting the start for the Washington Nationals and he currently sits with an ERA near five. In this game, the San Francisco Giants offense is going to run up the score, and that is going to lead to the Giants winning this game on the money line.
Play: Giants ML
New York Yankees +122 at Philadelphia Phillies -132 Total: 8.5
The New York Yankees aren’t going to have to score a whole lot of runs to get the job done in this game. Domingo German has allowed three or fewer runs in each of his last nine starts, and he is going to lock down the Phillies offense in this game. The Yankees offense has been inconsistent, but they are going to get the job done in this game. Back the Yankees on the money line.
Play: Yankees ML
Chicago White Sox at Detroit Tigers
Carlos Rodon has been pitching better as of late, but he hasn’t gotten a whole lot of run support. Over his last five starts, he has an 0-2 record and an ERA of 3.45. The White Sox had plenty of run support on Saturday though, and they will again. The White Sox’s offense is going to be strong, which will lead to a win on the run line.
Play: White Sox -1.5
San Diego Padres -135 at New York Mets +115 Total: 7.5
The Mets have been playing some good baseball and they are going to get the job done again in this game. Joey Lucchesi owns a 1.46 ERA over his last three starts and although the overall numbers look bad, it looks like his season might finally be making a turn. The Padres offense hasn’t been as strong the last couple of weeks and the Mets will get the job done on the reverse run line.
Play: Mets -1.5
Seattle Mariners +204 at Cleveland Indians -244 Total: 7.5
The Seattle Mariners and Cleveland Indians are both going to struggle to score in this game. Logan Gilbert is coming off back to back strong starts and Shane Bieber currently sits with an ERA of 2.96 overall. Bieber of the last three games has been even better sitting with an ERA of 1.80. This is going to be a pitcher’s duel. Back the under to cash.
Toronto Blue Jays -110 at Boston Red Sox -110 Total: 7.5
The Toronto Blue Jays offense is going to run up the score in this game. Martin Perez is going to get lit up in this game, after giving up six runs in his two innings of work in the last game against the Houston Astros. Perez has been a pitcher that has worn down as the season has gone on, something that appears to be the case in this one. In this game, look for the Blue Jays offense to run up the score, and that is going to be the difference in this game. Back the Blue Jays on the money line.
Play: Blue Jays ML
Baltimore Orioles at Tampa Bay Rays
The Baltimore Orioles have been bad this season. But over the last ten games, they have five wins. Bruce Zimmerman got out to a slow start to his season, but he has been pitching better as of late. Over Zimmerman’s last three starts he has gone 15.1 innings total giving up only five runs. Look for the Orioles offense to give him enough run support for a victory to happen.
Play: Orioles ML
Atlanta Braves +120 at Miami Marlins -130 Total: 7.5
Most of the Braves pitching staff has been strong, but the weak link has been Drew Smyly who currently sits with an ERA of 5.82. In his last start against the Philadelphia Phillies, Smyly went 4.1 innings giving up five hits and three runs. Pablo Lopez at times hasn’t had a lot of run support, but that won’t be the case on Sunday. Back the Marlins on the money line.
Play: Marlins ML
Colorado Rockies +147 at Cincinnati Reds -160 Total: 9.5
The Reds are calling up Tony Santillan to make his major league debut, and although there will be some nerves, he is going to find success. The Rockies have struggled against right-handers this year hitting only .229 compared to left-handers who they hit .276 against. The Rockies struggling are going to lead to a loss by a couple of runs for the visiting team.
Play: Reds -1.5
Pittsburgh Pirates at Milwaukee Brewers
The Milwaukee Brewers have won eight of their last ten games, and even as a big favorite, there is no reason not to put the money on the home team. Adrian Houser is pitching better as of late, and the Pirates offense that ranks dead last in terms of runs per game is going to struggle.. Back the Brewers on the run line.
Play: Brewers -1.5
Houston Astros -134 at Minnesota Twins +111 Total: 9.5
It really doesn’t matter who the Minnesota Twins start the bullpen struggles late in games and has blown plenty of them this season. This is going to be a close game with both pitchers finding success, but the Twins bullpen will blow it. Back the Astros on the money line.
Play: Astros ML
Kansas City Royals +175 at Oakland Athletics -200 Total: 8.5
Runs are going to be hard to come by in this game. Kris Bubic sits with an ERA of 3.32 while Chris Bassitt sits with an ERA of 3.44. The A’s are the better team in this matchup, but the Royals do offer a lot of value as the underdogs. Take a chance with the Royals pulling off the upset.
Play: Royals ML +175
Los Angeles Angels at Arizona Diamondbacks
The Angels are going to run up the score in this game and this one is going to get out of hand early. The Diamondbacks are going to send Jon Duplantier to the mound and he currently sits with an ERA of 10.03. The Angels offense is going to be strong and they will win on the run line.
Play: Angels -1.5
Texas Rangers at Los Angeles Dodgers
Dane Dunning has been inconsistent this year, but he is coming off a start where he didn’t give up any runs. Facing the Dodgers is a different animal but he is going to find enough success for the Rangers to keep this close. Back the Rangers getting the +1.5
Play: Rangers +1.5
St. Louis Cardinals at Chicago Cubs
The Sunday night baseball game between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs is going to be over early. It’s probably time for Carlos Martinez to consider hanging up the cleats because he doesn’t have the stuff he once had. The Cubs offense is starting to gain confidence and now they get to face off with a pitcher who has an ERA near 6.00. Look for the Cubs to end this series with a victory. cc
