It’s a nice slate of games across the MLB on Thursday with 10 games taking place and we have a free MLB pick on each of the games. Let’s take a look at a free MLB pick to make your Thursday a winning one.
Milwaukee Brewers -120 at Cincinnati Reds +100 Total: 8.5
The Milwaukee Brewers should be closer to -150 or -160 and there is a lot of value with the -120 in this game. THe Brewers get a juicy matchup against Luis Castillo who currently sits with a 6.63 ERA. Look for the Brewers to run up the score in this game, and that will lead to the Brewers winning on the money line. The Brewers -1.5 is also worth a look.
Play: Milwaukee Brewers ML -120
Los Angeles Dodgers -224 at Pittsburgh Pirates +184 Total: 9
This total is too low. The Dodgers offense is strong and now they get to face off with Mitch Keller and coming into this game he sits with a 6.65 ERA and the Pittsburgh Pirates bullpen is also going to struggle. Look for both teams to score enough to push this game over the total.
Atlanta Braves +115 at Philadelphia Phillies -135 Total: 8.5
Zach Wheeler has been one of the best pitchers in the National League, but he still isn’t getting enough attention because the Philadelphia Phillies aren’t giving him any run support. Look for this game to be a low scoring game and for the under to cash.
Seattle Mariners at Detroit Tigers
The Detroit Tigers are the better team in this matchup, but I like the way Justus Sheffield has pitched this season and he is going to slow down the Tigers offense. It might not be a pretty win, but a win is a win, and the Mariners will get the job done.
Play: Mariners ML
Houston Astros -110 at Boston Red Sox -110 Total: 9
The Astros are 7-3 in their last ten games and they have a big advantage with their offense in this game. Zack Greinke is coming off a complete game and even with a good offense like the Red Sox, the Astros are going to get the job done. Back the Astros ML
Play: Astros ML
San Francisco Giants at Washington Nationals
If you like low-scoring games, this is one to tune into. The Giants have had strong pitching staff and tonight it’s Anthony DeSclafani who gets the start sitting with a 3.51 ERA. Max Scherzer isn’t the same pitcher he once was, but he still sits with an ERA of 2.22. This total is too low, and the under is going to cash with ease.
Toronto Blue Jays -120 at Chicago White Sox +100 Total: 8.5
Hyun JIn Ryu is coming off a bad start in his last game, but this is a great bounce-back spot for him. He has been the ace of this team and he is going to get some run support with the Blue ays offense having success.
Play: Blue Jays ML
Colorado Rockies at Miami Marlins
The Marlins really don’t have a whole lot of bright spots on the team, but Trevor Rogers has been one of them. On the season, Rogers sits with a 6-3 record and an ERA of 1.97. The Marlins wont’ have to give him a whole lot of run support, because he isn’t going to give up many or any runs. Look for the Marlins to win this game on the run line.
Play: Marlins -1.5
Kansas City Royals +129 at Oakland Athletics -155 Total: 8
Hards are going to be very hard to come by in this game. Frankie Montas has a career 1.62 ERA against the Royals. For MIke Minor he is coming off his longest outing of the season and he is going to slow down an A’s offense that has been inconsistent this year. Look for both offenses to struggle and for the under to cash.
New York Yankees at Minnesota Twins
I don’t trust the Twins, especially when J.A. Happ is getting the start. After a strong start to his season, Happ has an ERA over ten in his last five starts. The Yankees offense is going to have no issue running up the score Look for the Yankees to win this game on the run line.
Play: Yankees -1.5
