All 30 teams are in action on Wednesday, June 9th in the MLB. Let’s take a look at the odds and free betting picks for each game in Major League Baseball.
San Francisco Giants -110 Texas Rangers -110 Total: 8.5
With two teams that focus on the pitching side of the game, I like the under in this one. The Rangers' Kyle Gibson has been excellent and I think he keeps the Giants' bats at bay.
Pick: Under 8.5
Arizona Diamondbacks +195 Oakland Athletics -215 Total: 8.5
The Diamondbacks' Matt Peacock has struggled this season and the Diamondbacks overall have been terrible on the road. The Athletics are better on the road but should have no issues winning this game at the Coliseum.
Pick: Oakland Athletics -215
Chicago Cubs +170 San Diego Padres -200 Total: 8
The Cubs' Jake Arrieta is on my fade list as he is not striking out enough batters in a strikeout-dependent league. The Padres should win this game easily with Yu Darvish on the bump at Petco.
Pick: San Diego Padres -1.5
Atlanta Braves -125 Philadelphia Phillies +105 Total: 9
I am going to side with the better lineup in the Braves, as I think both Atlanta's Tucker Davidson and the Phillies' Zach Eflin are going to be pulled early. I think Atlanta has the edge and takes this one.
Pick: Atlanta Braves -125
Los Angeles Dodgers -160 Pittsburgh Pirates +140 Total: 9
The Dodgers should be a lot larger of favorites against the Pirates in this one, especially with the Pirates' Tyler Anderson on the mound. I think Los Angeles beats Pittsburgh with ease on Wednesday evening.
Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers -160
New York Mets -155 Baltimore Orioles +135 Total: 9
After a miserable Tuesday night at Camden Yards, I think the Mets snap out of it and grab a road victory over the Orioles. The Mets' Taijuan Walker has been a great addition to the team and should keep New York competitive in this one.
Pick: New York Mets -155
Colorado Rockies -105 Miami Marlins -115 Total: 7.5
The Marlins have not yet announced a starter for this game, so be sure to check back soon for updates. For now, I am going to side with the Marlins, as they are the better team in all facets of the game, and the Rockies have been a disaster away from home this season with less than five wins total on the road. UPDATE: The Marlins have announced that Braxton Garrett will be the starter. The pick remains on the Marlins money line.
Pick: Miami Marlins -115
Houston Astros +110 Boston Red Sox -130 Total: 9.5
We saw the Astros' bats explode at the beginning of Tuesday's game against these Red Sox but I think we see a different game on Wednesday where pitching is key. We have two of the harder throwing starters facing off with Houston's Jake Odorizzi and Boston's Nathan Eovaldi. I like the under.
Pick: Under 9.5
Milwaukee Brewers -118 Cincinnati Reds -102 Total: 9.5
The Brewers' Brett Anderson is going to run out of luck sooner rather than later. Advanced analytics are not on his side and for that reason, I am going to side with the Reds at home here getting a great price.
Pick: Cincinnati Reds -102
Seattle Mariners +105 Detroit Tigers -125 Total: 8.5
With two of the weaker lineups in baseball going at it on Wednesday, I think the strongest play is on the under. The Tigers' Casey Mize should be able to quiet the Mariners' bats and I think Seattle's Chris Flexen finds success in this contest as well.
Pick: Under 8.5
Washington Nationals +130 Tampa Bay Rays -150 Total: 8
The Rays are arguably the best team in baseball right now and are still getting very bettable prices at home. I will take the better team with the better pitcher at a feasible price. The Nationals' Patrick Corbin should be in trouble at the Trop on Wednesday.
Pick: Tampa Bay Rays -150
New York Yankees -170 Minnesota Twins +150 Total: 8
Gerrit Cole's name has been in the baseball news for all of the wrong reasons as of late, making him an easy fade in this contest with the Twins. Minnesota has the bats to make Cole pay and I think getting plus money with the home team is very valuable.
Pick: Minnesota Twins +150
Toronto Blue Jays +125 Chicago White Sox -145 Total: 8.5
The Blue Jays' top pitching prospect Alek Manoah has been decent thus far in his first season. We know what Chicago's Lance Lynn can do, and I think we see a tight, low-scoring game on Wednesday between these two teams.
Under 8.5
Cleveland Indians +100 St. Louis Cardinals -120 Total: 8
The Indians and Cardinals are not necessarily known for lighting up the scoreboard but I think both teams find plenty of offensive success in this one. This total is far too low and I think we see double-digits in the run column between these two clubs.
Pick: Over 8
Kansas City Royals +105 Los Angeles Angels -125 Total: 9
I am going to fade the Angels' Griffin Canning here, as I do not think he warrants a -125 price at this point in this season. The Royals have proved many people wrong this year and I think they find an upset victory on Wednesday night.
Pick: Kansas City Royals +105
