Every team is in action on Friday, June 4th in Major League Baseball. With 15 games to choose from, there is plenty of great money-making opportunities on the board. Let's take a look at the odds and free betting picks for each game in the MLB for June 4th, 2021.
Cleveland Indians -125 Baltimore Orioles +105 Total: 8.5
In my eyes, the Orioles hold all of the value in this one. Baltimore is getting plus money at home against an Indians team that is fighting above its weight this season. The Indians are 28th in the MLB in team batting average and I think the O's steal this one on Friday.
Pick: Baltimore Orioles +105
Boston Red Sox -105 New York Yankees -115 Total: 9
The Yankees will open this game with Michael King on the bump as the Yanks decide to go with a bullpen. The Red Sox's Nathan Eovaldi faces his former team, a team that has been abysmal with the bats as of late. For that reason, I am on the Sox here.
Pick: Boston Red Sox -105
Miami Marlins -110 Pittsburgh Pirates -110 Total: 7.5
The Pirates' Mitch Keller is still a few years away from being a successful starter in the league and for that reason, I will side with the Fish in Miami. The Marlins' Cody Poteet has been solid and should be good enough for a Miami win on the road.
Pick: Miami Marlins -110
Washington Nationals -108 Philadelphia Phillies -112 Total: 6.5
The Nationals' Max Scherzer and the Phillies' Zack Wheeler are two of the best starters in the National League this year. I think we see a good old-fashioned pitcher's duel in which the under hits.
Pick: Under 6.5
Houston Astros +105 Toronto Blue Jays -125 Total: 8.5
Both of these teams will feature their ace (Astros' Zack Greinke and Blue Jays' Hyun Jin Ryu). The Jays have won four of their last five and I like their chances at home (in Buffalo) in this contest.
Pick: Toronto Blue Jays -125
Los Angeles Dodgers -125 Atlanta Braves +105 Total: 8.5
This should be a great series between two of the strongest offenses in the MLB. Getting the Braves at plus money with Ian Anderson on the mound is too enticing to pass up. The Dodgers' Julio Urias is coming off his worst performance of the season and I need to see better from him before I back the Dodgers.
Pick: Atlanta Braves +105
Tampa Bay Rays -135 Texas Rangers +115 Total: 8
The Rays are the hottest team in baseball and should have no problem in this series against a losing streak-ridden Texas squad. The Rays are opting for a bullpen game and that bodes them well most of the time.
Pick: Tampa Bay Rays -135
Detroit Tigers +145 Chicago White Sox -170 Total: 8
The White Sox's Dallas Keuchel has seen better days and I think the Tigers take advantage of that on Friday. Detroit's weak bullpen scares me a lot so I am going to take the safe route and side with the run-line play.
Pick: Detroit Tigers +1.5
Arizona Diamondbacks +170 Milwaukee Brewers -200 Total: 8
The Diamondbacks could quite honestly have the worst pitching staff in the league and they have also struggled mightily with runners in scoring position. The D-Backs' Matt Peacock has not pitched well enough for me to back Arizona here. I like Milwaukee at home on Friday night.
Pick: Milwaukee Brewers -200
Cincinnati Reds +110 St. Louis Cardinals -130 Total: 8.5
The Reds' Luis Castillo has struggled all season long and the Cardinals' Kwang Hyun Kim has been hit hard in his past few starts. I expect both teams to score early and often.
Pick: Over 8.5
Minnesota Twins +100 Kansas City Royals -120 Total: 9.5
The Twins have struggled in the pitching department all season long and Matt Shoemaker has struggled particularly. I think we see more of the same between these teams and the over becomes a strong play for that reason. Check back soon for the official total.
Pick: Over 9.5
Oakland Athletics -135 Colorado Rockies +115 Total: 10.5
This should be an interesting series for the A's and I think they open it with a win at Coors. I expect both starters to be pulled early and for the stronger offense in Oakland to prevail.
Pick: Oakland Athletics -135
Seattle Mariners +155 Los Angeles Angels -180 Total: 9
The Mariners have not announced a starting pitcher for this contest so I am going to lean with the Angels so far. Shohei Ohtani is the projected starter for the Halos and he has been fantastic not only at the plate but on the mound as well. I like the Angels' chances in this one. UPDATE: The Mariners are projected to start Robert Dugger who is 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA. The pick remains Angels' money line.
Pick: Los Angeles Angels -180
Chicago Cubs -110 San Francisco Giants -110 Total: 8.5
The Giants have not announced a starting pitcher but I still am going to fade the Cubs' Jake Arrieta here. Arrieta just does not have his best stuff this season and is not backable in my eyes. I think San Fran takes it to the Cubbies on Friday. UPDATE: The projected starter for the Giants is left-hander Scott Kazmir. The pick remains Giants' money line.
Pick: San Francisco Giants -110
New York Mets +165 San Diego Padres -190 Total: 7.5
The Mets' Joey Luchessi is the projected starter for this one and I think he gets roughed up by the Padres in this one. The Padres' Blake Snell just has to be decent for his team to earn the easy victory at home.
Pick: San Diego Padres -1.5
