It’s another full slate of games across the MLB on Saturday and there are plenty of opportunities to make money. Let’s take a look at a breakdown for each of the games and a free pick.
Colorado Rockies -113 at Pittsburgh Pirates -107 Total: 7.5 (Game 1)
Jon Gray has been good at Coors Field, but on the road this season he has been awful, and there is no reason to believe it’s going to get any better in this game. Gray sits with an ERA of 6.36 and the Pittsburgh Pirates are going to find a way to get the job done. Back the Pirates on the money line.
Play: Pirates ML
Philadelphia Phillies -115 at Tampa Bay Rays -105 Total: 7
The Tampa Bay Rays are hot coming into this game having won nine of their last ten games but this is a game where they aren’t going to come out on top. Zack Wheeler comes into this game with an ERA of 2.38 and he is going to be lights out in this game. The Phillies offense will give him enough run support to win this game.
Play: Phillies ML
Milwaukee Brewers +100 at Washington Nationals -120 Total: 9 (Game 1)
Jon Lester hasn’t been a player who has found a lot of success this season but he is facing a Brewers offense that has had issues scoring all season. Look for both teams to struggle to score and for the under to cash;
Kansas City Royals at Minnesota Twins
J.A. Happ hasn’t been as good as of late and the Royals offense is going to take advantage. The Twins offense finally seems to also be turning the corner and points are going to be flying off the board in this game. Back the over.
Cincinnati Reds -105 at Chicago Cubs -115 Total:
The Cubs got out to a slow start to the season, but they are playing a lot better as of late winning seven of their last ten games. The Cubs have to be licking their chops getting a chance to go against Luis Castillo. Castillo currently sits with an ERA of 7.61 and they are going to have no issue running up the score in this game. Back the Cubs on the money line.
Play: Cubs ML
Baltimore Orioles +160 at Chicago White Sox -179 Total: 8
This is going to be a very low-scoring game. Lance Lynn comes into this game sitting with a 1.61 ERA and the Orioles send John Means to the mound and he comes into this game with a 1.79 ERA. Both pitchers will go deep in the game, and the under is going to cash with ease.
Los Angeles Angels +130 at Oakland Athletics -149
Homers have been an issue for this A’s pitching staff, especially Frankie Montas who gave up two homers in his last start. Alex Cobb also hasn’t been anything to write ome about and that is going to lead to this game going well over the total.
Colorado Rockies +115 at Pittsburgh Pirates -135 Total: 7.5 (Game 2)
This is for the second game of the doubleheader. This a high total for a seven-inning game, but for good reasons because both teams are going to find offensive success. Mitch Keller sits with an ERA near eight, and the Rockies are going to take advantage. The Pirates offense will also score enough to push this game over the total.
Toronto Blue Jays -121 at Cleveland Indians +111 Total: 8.5
The Cleveland Indians sit with an 11-9 record at home and they are going to find success in this game. The Indians scored five runs on Thursday and they are going to find offensive success against the Blue Jays in this game. Back the Indians on the money line.
Play: Indians ML +111
San Diego Padres -134 at Houston Astros +124 Total: 8
The Padres really should be closer to -190 or -200 in this game. The Padres are 8-2 in their last ten games and their offense has been strong. They send out Yu Darvish to the mound and he currently sits with a 1.75 ERA. Back the Padres on the run line.
Play: Padres -1.5
New York Yankees -147 at Detroit Tigers +136 Total: 8.5
The Yankees have been playing well coming into this game sitting with a 7-3 record overall. The Yankees have been playing well as of late and the pitching staff has been the difference. In the last game against the Blue Jays, the Yankees gave up only three runs total, and it’s going to be the pitching staff that is the difference.
Play: Yankees -1.5
Milwaukee Brewers at Washington Nationals (Game 2)
The pitchers in this game are up in the air, and that makes giving a strong opinion on this game tough. Even so, the Brewers offense has struggled and both teams are going to struggle to score in this game. Back the under.
San Francisco Giants +170 at Los Angeles Dodgers -184 Total: 7.5
The Dodgers are hot coming into this game and they are going to have no issues getting the job done in this game. The Dodgers bats are hot, and now they send Julio Urias to the mound and over his last three starts he has gone 3-0 and sits with a 1.73 ERA. The Dodgers are going to get the job done on the run line.
Play: Dodgers -1.5
Atlanta Braves at New York Mets
The Mets offense is awful and it doesn’t matter who’s on the mound, I don’t trust them to score runs against anyone. The Braves might not run up the score, but they are going to score enough runs to come away with a victory.
Play: Braves ML
Texas Rangers +100 at Seattle Mariners -120 Total: 8.5
These are both teams who are struggling and trusting either of the teams is not something I am all that interested in doing. One thing that will happen in this game though is both teams are going to find offensive success. Look for both pitchers to be chased early and that is going to lead to the over cashing
St. Louis Cardinals at Arizona Diamondbacks
I am not trusting the Diamondbacks because of how bad they have been this season. Adam Wainwright hasn’t gotten a lot of run support this season but that will change in this game. The Diamondbacks pitching hasn’t been good this season, and Seth Frankoff isn’t going to turn it around in this game. Back the Cardinals on the money line.
Play: Cardinals ML
