It’s another full slate of games across the MLB on Wednesday and there is plenty of value across the board in terms of the MLB picks. Let’s break down and look at a free pick on each of the games.
Chicago White Sox at Minnesota Twins
The Minnesota Twins haven’t gotten good pitching from anywhere on their team and there is no reason to believe it’s going to be different in this game. Matt Shoemaker on the season has gone 34 innings giving up 26 runs. In his last start against the A’s he went six innings giving up five hits and five runs. The Twins bullpen won’t hold a lead, even if Shoemaker has a good start. Look for the White sox to win this game on the run line.
Play: White Sox -1.5
Colorado Rockies at San Diego Padres
The Padres are the better team, but there is no way they should be laying this type of odds in this game. The Rockies offense has been inconsistent but has shown flashes of being strong. Starting pitcher Chi Chi Gonzales is also coming off a start against the Reds where he went seven innings giving up four hits and one run. Take a chance with the Rockies on the run line.
Play: Rockies ML
San Francisco Giants at Cincinnati Reds
The Giants are playing good baseball, and now they send their ace to the mound. On the mound for the Giants will be Kevin Guasman who sits with a 3-0 record and an ERA of 1.84. Guasman will lock down in this game. The Giants on the money line is the play. I also believe this will be a low scoring game and the under will also cash.
Play: Giants ML
Tampa Bay Rays at Baltimore Orioles
Taking the Orioles this season has been hit or miss, but this is one of those opportunities to take them. The Rays offense has been up and down this season and they are going to struggle to score in this game. John Means will get the start in this game and over his last two starts he has gone 15 innings giving up six hits and zero runs. Take the chances with the Orioles in this game.
Play: Orioles ML
Miami Marlins at Philadelphia Phillies
The Marlins team bright spot has been with the pitchers and Trevor Rogers has been one of those guys. The one problem though is the Marlins haven’t had a lot of runs all season and they are going to struggle to score in this game. Back the under.
Play: Under
New York Mets at Atlanta Braves
The Mets offense hasn’t been great this season but they face Charlie Morton who has struggled against basically everybody The Mets are going to find a way to score just enough runs against the Braves to come away with the cover of the spread.
Play: Mets ML
Washington Nationals Chicago Cubs
Max Scherzer is on the mound for the Nationals and he currently sits with an ERA of 2.10. Scherzer is going to lock down in his game against the Cubs and the Nationals will finally get their bats going again. Back the Nationals on the money line.
Play: Nationals ML
Boston Red Sox at Toronto Blue Jays
The Boston Red Sox have been hot coming into this game and one of the only teams that has been hotter has been the Blue Jays who have won seven of their last ten games. Even though Stripling hasn’t been great on the mound, the Blue Jays offense will give him the run support he needs.
Play: Blue Jays ML
New York Yankees at Texas Rangers
‘The Yankees have used good pitching to find their success this season, and Corey Kluber has been a big reason why. Look for Kluber to lock down the Rangers and the Yankees bullpen will come and close it out. Back the Yankees on the run line in a low scoring game.
Play: Yankees -1.5
Pittsburgh Pirates at St. Louis Cardinals
The Cardinals should be laying close to -300 in this game. The pitching matchup isn’t even a fair one and this game is going to become a blowout early. Take the value and lay the -2.5 with the Cardinals. If you want even more value, -3.5 on the Cardinals is worth a few dollars.
Play: Cardinals -2.5
Cleveland Indians at Los Angeles Angels
This game is very even and a play on either side is not a good play. Aaron Civale sits with an ERA of 3.40 while Ohtani sits with a 2.10 ERA. Look for both offenses to struggle, especially if Trout is out and the under will cash.
Play: Under
Milwaukee Brewers at Kansas City Royals
The Royals have had issues scoring, and outside of a few rare exceptions for the Brewers they have leaned on their pitching when they have found success. In this game look for both teams to struggle to score and the under will cash with ease.
Play: Under
Houston Astros at Oakland Athletics
Both of these pitchers starting in this game having higher ERA’s but also have a good record which means they have gotten good run support this year. In this game though, I will take my chances with the A’s who are at home, a play they have a 13-11 record overall. The Astros will struggle to score and the A’s will win.
Play: A’s ML
Detroit Tigers at Seattle Mariners
The Tigers offense hasn’t been strong this season, but they have teed off on bad pitching, and it’s going to happen again in this game. Logan Gilbert sits with an ERA near 9.00 and he is going to struggle again in this game. Tarik Skubal sits with an ERA of 5.73 for the Tigers so he should struggle in this game too.
Play: Over
Arizona Diamondbacks at Los Angeles Angels
The Dodgers are such heavy favorites there really isn't any value in this game, but they are really the only play here because the Diamondbacks are going to struggle to score. The Dodgers are the play on the run line, but it’s more of a stay-away spot for them.
Play: Dodgers -1.5
