It’s a full slate of games across the MLB on Friday and there is plenty of value across the board in terms of MLB Picks. Let’s look at a breakdown at each of the games and give a free pick on each of the games.
Kansas City Royals at Chicago White Sox Game 1
This is a preview for the first game of the doubleheader, which means this game will only be seven innings long. Lucas Giolito will get the start for the White Sox and coming into this game he sits with an 8-2 record and an ERA of 2.81. The Royals are really struggling coming into this game, including their game on Thursday where they only scored three runs. Back the White Sox on the run line
Play: White Sox -1.5
San Francisco Giants at Pittsburgh Pirates
The San Francisco Giants are the better team and they have the better pitcher on the mound in this game. The Pirates are 3-7 in their last ten games, and the biggest issue has been with their offense. Coming into this game, Kevin Gausman sits with 3-0 record and an ERA of 1.97. The Pirates will struggle to score and that will lead to the Giants coming away with a cover of the spread.
Play: Giants ML
New York Yankees at Baltimore Orioles
After a slow start to the season, the New York Yankees have turned it around, and it’s been the pitching, starting and bullpen that has been the difference. In this game though, it’s going to be the offense that is the difference for the Yankees. Dean Kremer is on the mound for the Orioles and he has allowed nine runs in 7 1/3rd innings against the Yankees. Back the Yankees on the run line.
Play: Yankees -1.5
Chicago Cubs at Detroit Tigers
These are two pitchers who haven’t been great this season, but these are two offenses that haven’t been great this season. The Tigers on the season are averaging 3.42 runs per game while the Cubs are averaging 4.44 runs per game. In this game look for both teams to struggle to score and the under will cash.
New York Mets at Tampa Bay Rays
David Peterson will get the start for the Mets and on the season he currently sits with a 1-3 record overall and an ERA of 5.54. The Mets on the season are averaging 3.58 runs per game and their lack of scoring, along with the bad pitching they will get in this game, will be the difference. Back the Rays on the run line.
Play: Rays -1.5
Los Angeles Angels at Boston Red Sox
The Red Sox are the better team and they have one of the best offenses in baseball averaging 5.03 runs per game. Nick Pivetta will get the start for the Red Sox and coming into this game he sits with a 5-0 record and an ERA of 3.19. Look for the Angels to struggle to score and the Red Sox will win this game.
Play: Red Sox ML
Philadelphia Phillies at Toronto Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays are coming into this game hot having won three games in a row over the Atlanta Braves. Each of the games the Blue Jays attacked the Braves bullpen and that was the difference as they came away with the victory. The Phillies scored only one run on Thursday, and the defense is going to let them down in this game. Back the Blue Jays to come away with a victory.
Play: Blue Jays ML
Atlanta Braves at Milwaukee Brewers
The Milwaukee Brewers offense has been a big issue all season and it let them down again on Friday where they lost 2-0. The Braves bullpen has been a big issue, all season and it let them down in each of the three games against the Toronto Blue Jays. In this game, even if the Braves offense finds success their bullpen is going to let them down. Back the Brewers on the money line.
Play: Brewers ML
Texas Rangers at Houston Astros
The Texas Rangers as underdogs on Friday make a lot of sense. Zack Greinke has an 8.25 ERA and a 1.83 WHIP over his last two starts. In this game, look for the Rangers to get to Greinke early, and that will be the difference as the Rangers win this game.
Play: Rangers ML
Kansas City Royals at Chicago White Sox Game 2
This preview is for Game 2 of the doubleheader between the White Sox and the Royals. The Royals offense has really struggled so far this season, and it’s not going to get any better in this game. On the mound for the White Sox will be Michael Kopech and he sits with a 2-0 record and an ERA of 1.61 ERA. Back the White Sox on the money line.
Play: White Sox ML
Oakland Athletics at Minnesota Twins
Until the Twins turn around their season, they are going to need to continue to be a fade, no matter who is on the mound. If the pitching staff is strong, the Twins struggle to score and if their pitching staff is bad, that is what lets them down. Look for the Twins offense to continue to struggle and that will be the difference as the A’s come away with a win on the run line.
Play: A’s -1.5
Cincinnati Reds at Colorado Rockies
Over the last ten games, the Reds sit with a 6-4 record overall, and they are going to get the job done in this game. Wade Miley comes into this game with a 4-2 record overall and an ERA of 2.00 ERA. Even at Coors Field, Miley is going to lock down and get the job done. Back the Rockies against the spread.
Play: Reds ML
Washington Nationals at Arizona Diamondbacks
This isn’t the same Max Scherzer as years past, but this is a team that he has found all kinds o success against. The Diamondbacks drafted Scherzer back in 2006 and in his career he has gone 7-0 and sits with a 2.55 ERA. Look for Scherzer to look down the DBacks offense, and for the Nationals to win this game on the run line.
Play: Nationals -1.5
St. Louis Cardinals at San Diego Padres
Joe Musgrove hasn't been as strong as of late and over his last two starts he has given up ten runs in his last ten innings. The Cardinals are going to run up the score, and I also expect the Padres are going to find offensive success in this game. Look for this game to go well over the total.
MIami Marlins at Los Angeles Dodgers
The Miami Marlins and Los Angeles Dodgers are going to be involved in a good old fashioned pitchers duel in this game. Sandy Alcantara has been pitching better as of late and he sits with a 1.80 ERA over his last three starts. For Clayton Kershaw he doesn’t seem to ageas he continues to lock down. Look for the under to cash.
Cleveland Indians at Seattle Mariners
The Indians have had issues this season scoring, but they aren’t going to need to have a whole lot of run support in this game. Aaron Civale has been elite this season sitting with a 5-0 record and an ERA of 2.91. The Mariners aren't going to get any offense going and that will lead to the Indians winning this game on the run line.
Play: Indians -1.5
