Washington Nationals +110 New York Yankees -121 Total: 8

The Nationals Max Scherzer has allowed 8 runs and 3 home runs over his last 14 innings pitched and has not done well in his career against this Yankees lineup. He has allowed a .361 career average against them with 3 home runs in 72 at bats. The Yankees have been playing well of late, winning 7 of their last 10 and leading the majors with 23 home runs over their last 7 days. The Yankees Corey Kluber has 15 strikeouts with just one run allowed over his last 2 starts and their bullpen ranks 3rd with a 2.59 ERA this season.

Pick: New York Yankees -121

Colorado Rockies +157 St. Louis Cardinals -172 Total: 8.5

The Cardinals Carlos Martinez has settled down after a rough start, allowing just 2 runs over 21.1 innings in his last three starts. He has also pitched well against this Rockies lineup, allowing just 11 hits in 48 career at bats with 15 strikeouts. The Rockies Chi Chi Gonzalez has allowed over a hit per inning with only 14 strikeouts in 24.2 innings pitched this season, so the Cardinals should have some chances to get the bats going.

Pick: St. Louis Cardinals -172

Pittsburgh Pirates Chicago Cubs Total:

The Pirates have lost 4 of their last 5 games heading into Friday’s action, and are averaging just 1.6 runs scored over that stretch. The Cubs Trevor Williams has not looked good in his last two starts but has been much better at home this season. He is 2-0 with a 2.81 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 3 starts at Wrigley. The Cubs rank 4th in the majors with 26 home runs and 96 runs scored at home this year.

Pick: Chicago Cubs

San Diego Padres -125 San Francisco Giants +115 Total: 7

The Giants have been hit hard by injuries with nearly half of their starting lineup currently listed on the injury report. The Padres Joe Musgrove gave up 5 runs over 5 innings against the Giants last week, but overall he has limited this lineup to a .145 career average with 19 strikeouts in 55 at bats. The Padres Fernando Tatis Jr. has a .423 batting average and 5 HR away from home in 2021 and hit a HR off the Giants expected starter Kevin Gausman just last week.

Pick: San Diego Padres -125

Tampa Bay Rays -140 Oakland Athletics +130 Total: 7.5

The Rays Tyler Glasnow is 4-1 with a 2.06 ERA and 0.87 WHIP to start the season and has been just as good on the road. He has dominated this A’s lineup and pitched 7 scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts against them back on 4/28. The A’s Frankie Montas has allowed over a hit per inning this season and has given up at least 3 runs in his last 3 starts.

Pick: Tampa Bay Rays -140

Minnesota Twins -172 Detroit Tigers +157 Total: 8

The Tigers rank last with a .209 average and 2.8 runs per game at home this season. They will also be without Wilson Ramos in this one; he leads the team with 6 home runs. The Twins Jose Berrios has a 1.62 ERA and 20 strikeouts in three starts on the road. The Twins rank second in the majors with 22 home runs over the last 15 days.

Pick: Minnesota Twins -1.5

Cincinnati Reds +101 Cleveland Indians -111 Total: 8.5

The Reds Luis Castillo is 0-4 his last 4 starts, allowing 28 hits in 19.1 innings. The Indians bullpen ranks second in the majors with a 2.54 ERA, and they will have Aaron Civale on the mound here. They are 5-1 in his starts this season, and he has limited baserunners with a 1.04 WHIP. The Indians have also won 8 of their last 10 games.

Pick: Cleveland Indians -111

Milwaukee Brewers -111 Miami Marlins +101 Total:8

The Brewers have been in a funk, losing 6 straight games, 5 of those on the road. The Marlins on the other hand have won 4 straight. They have not announced a starter so will likely piece this one together. Their bullpen ranks 7th in the league with a 3.23 ERA and 3rd with a 1.08 WHIP so should be able to limit this slumping Milwaukee offense. The Brewers Adrian Houser has allowed multiple runs in his last 4 starts, including 3 in Miami a week ago. Ill take the Marlins to keep things rolling here.

Pick: Miami Marlins +101

Boston Red Sox Baltimore Orioles Total:

The Red Sox' Garret Richards gave up 2 ER over 5 innings in his first start at Baltimore this season. He will face a Baltimore lineup that ranks last in the majors with a .206 average against righty's. Boston leads the league with a .298 average and .833 OPS over the last 7 days. Back the Sox.

Pick: Boston Red Sox

Seattle Mariners -105 Texas Rangers -105 Total: 9

The Mariners Ljay Newsome has pitched well out of the bullpen but allowed 8 runs over 2 innings in his lone start of the season. The Rangers have been swinging the bat well of late with a .263 average over the last 15 days, good for 3rd in the majors. The Mariners rank last with a .191 average over that same stretch.

Pick: Texas Rangers -105

Arizona Diamondbacks New York Mets Total:

New York’s Joey Lucchesi has been hittable with a 10.13 ERA and 1.59 WHIP to start the season. The Diamondbacks lead the majors with an .858 OPS against left-handed pitching this season. Arizona is 4-0 in Merrill Kelly’s last 4 starts. The Mets rank last with 3.1 runs per game in 2021.

Pick: Arizona Diamondbacks

Chicago White Sox -172 Kansas City Royals +157 Total: 8.5

The White Sox’ Lance Lynn has pitched well with a 1.82 ERA and 0.97 WHIP to start the season but will have a shorthanded lineup supporting him. The entire starting outfield is on the injury report, and their lineup ranks 29th with a .176 average over the last 7 days.  The Royals lost 5 straight heading into this series on Friday night, but they rank 8th in the majors with a .784 OPS over the last week.

Pick: Kansas City Royals +157

Toronto Blue Jays +130 Houston Astros -140 Total: 9

Houston’s Christian Javier has not allowed a run in 3 of his last 4 starts but will face a Blue Jays lineup that has averaged 5.8 runs per game with 20 HR over the last 2 weeks. Toronto’s Steven Matz is 3-1 with a .195 batting average against on the road, and the Astros have averaged 4 runs per game over their last 5. The Blue Jays bullpen leads the majors with a 2.40 ERA to start the season.

Pick: Toronto Blue Jays +130

Philadelphia Phillies +157 Atlanta Braves -172 Total: 8.5

The Braves Ian Anderson has allowed just 4 runs over his last 17.2 innings with no home runs allowed. The Phillies have won under a third of their road games to start the season and are averaging just 3.1 runs in those games. Atlanta ranks 3rd with an .821 OPS at home in 2021.

Pick: Atlanta -1.5

Los Angeles Dodgers -150 Los Angeles Angels +120 Total: 8.5

Los Angeles' starter Clayton Kershaw was rocked in his last outing, but has done a good job bouncing back this season. He has not lost consecutive games all season and has limited this Angels lineup to a .160 career average with 44 strikeouts in 137 at bats. Dylan Bundy has given up at least two runs in each of his 6 starts for the Angels, and will be backed by a shaky bullpen that has a 4.99 ERA and 1.44 WHIP to start the season. Give me the Dodgers at a good value.

Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers -150
