It’s a lighter slate of games across the MLB on Thursday and there are ten games that are going to be played.
Milwaukee Brewers -120 at Philadelphia Phillies +100 Total: 7
Zack Wheeler is on the mound for the Philadelphia Phillies and he has been inconsistent this year, In two of his last three starts he has given up four runs. In the last start against the Mets he went seven innings giving up seven hits and four runs. The Brewers offense is going to get to Wheeler early and that will be the difference in this game as Milwaukee comes away with the victory at a nice price.
Play: Brewers ML
Houston Astros +170 at New York Yankees -200 Total: 7.5
-200 is a lot to lay, but with Gerritt Cole on the mound, not often do we get that low of odds. Overall this season, Cole has gone 37.2 innings giving up seven runs total. Over his last two starts he has gone 13 innings total giving up only seven hits and one run. The Astros are going to struggle to score in this game and that will be the difference as the Yankees come away with a victory on the run line.
Play: Yankees -1.5
Texas Rangers at Minnesota Twins
On the mound for the Texas Rangers is Jordan Lyles and in 28 innings on the season he has given up 23 runs total. In his last start against the Red Sox he went four innings giving up six hits and five runs. The Twins offense is getting hot at the right time and they are going to run up the score in this game. Back the Twins on the run line.
Play: Twins -1.5
Detroit Tigers +182 at Boston Red Sox -200 Total: 8.5
Spencer Turnbull hasn’t been elite this season, but he does a good job of keeping his Tigers in the game. In two of his last three starts he has given up three runs or less and his offense pitching is going to keep the Tigers in this game. Detroit might not win the game, but they will keep it close.
Play: Tigers +1.5
New York Mets -120 at St. Louis Cardinals +100 Total: 8
The Mets offense is still having issues scoring runs and there is no reason to believe it’s going to be any different in this game. John Gant on the season has been lights out for the Cardinals and over his last two starts he has given up three runs total giving up only one run. The Cardinals are going to have no issue winning this game on the money line. The under is going to cash with ease too.
Play: Cardinals ML
Cleveland Indians +115 at Kansas City Royals -125 Total: 8.5
The Royals best pitcher this season has been Danny Duffy who has gone 30 innings total giving up only four runs total. In his last start against the Twins he gave up two hits and one run. This is exactly who the Royals need on the mound to get their season back on the right track. Back the Royals to win this game on the money line. A few dollars on the Royals on the run line is also worth a look.
Play: Royals -1.5
Toronto Blue Jays -142 at Oakland Athletics +132 Total: 8
Mike Fiers has made one start this season and that came against the Baltimore Orioles and he went six innings giving up six hits and three runs. Even though Fiers gave up only three runs, it could have been a lot worse and I think he is going to struggle to get the job done in this game. The Blue Jays are going to tee off on him early and often as the Blue Jays win this game on the money run line.
Play: Blue Jays -1.5
Atlanta Braves +105 at Washington Nationals -114 Total: 9.5
Jon Lester has made only one start this season against the Miami Marlins and he was lights out giving six innings giving up five hits and zero runs. I expect Lester to have another strong start and the Braves are going to have all kinds of issues getting any kind of offense going. Back the Nationals on the money line.
Play: Nationals ML
Arizona Diamondbacks +115 at Miami Marlins -135 Total: 7.5
The wrong team is favored in this game as Madison Bumgarner has been pitching a whole lot better as of late. In Madison Bumgarner’s last two games he has gone 12 innings total giving up only four hits and one run. The Marlins offense isn’t exactly known as elite and the Diamondbacks are going to take advantage. Back the Diamondbacks on the money line.
Play: Diamondbacks ML
Tampa Bay Rays at Los Angeles Angels
On the mound for the Angels is Andrew Heaney and he is coming off a bad start in his last game. In his last start against the Seattle Mariners, he went 3.1 innings giving up six hits and five runs. The Angels are also going to continue to find offensive success and hte over is going to cash with ease in this game. Back the over.
