Wednesday’s MLB schedule is full which means there is plenty of value all across the board to exploit. Let’s take a full look at Wednesday’s card with a pick on each game and also the odds for each game.
Minnesota Twins -120 at Cleveland Indians +110 Total:8.5
J.A. Happ is coming off a near no hitter in his last start, but there is going to be a little regression back to normal here. The Twins bullpen still can’t close out games and even if Happ has a good start it will be the bullpen that blows the game late for them. Back the Indians on the money line.
Pick: Indians +110
Miami Marlins at Milwaukee Brewers
Sandy Alcantara has been strong this season and he is going to slow down the Brewers offense. In Game 1 the Brewers offense didn’t have any runs cross the plate and that is going to let them down again in this game.
Pick: Marlins ML
Kansas City Royals -117 at Pittsburgh Pirates +108 Total: 8
Mitch Keller has been awful this season for the Pirates including one game earlier this season where he gave up seven runs. The Royals still aren’t getting enough attention for what they have done so far this season. Back the Royals at a nice price.
Pick: Royals ML -117
Cincinnati Reds +175 at Los Angeles Dodgers -195 Total: 7.5
After a little bit of a rough start to the season, Clayton Kershaw has been playing better as of late including only giving up two runs total over his last two starts. I also don’t see the Dodgers really running up the score in this game. This total is too high, back the under.
Total: Under 7.5
New York Yankees at Baltimore Orioles
Domingo German has been one of the weak spots for the Yankees rotation and the Orioles are going to take advantage. Look for the Orioles offense to tee off on him early and often which will lead to the victory. Back the Orioles on the money line.
Pick: Orioles ML
Boston Red Sox +210 at New York Mets -240 Total: 7
What Jacob deGrom has done this season has been ridiculous and he currently sits with a 0.31 ERA. In his last start against Washington, he went nine innings giving up only two hits and zero runs. The Mets aren’t going to have to score many in this game for the Mets to cover the run line. Back the Metson the run line.
Pick: Mets -1.5
Washington Nationals +154 at Toronto Blue Jays -168 Total: 9
In two of Erick Fedde’s last three starts he has given up only one run. Look for Fedde to slow down the Blue Jays offense. Even though teven Matz has also been good for the Blue Jays, there is too much value in this game with the Nationals. Back the Nationals ML.
Pick: Nationals ML +154
Oakland Athletics +140 at Tampa Bay Rays -160 Total: 7.5
I can see the A’s being slight underdogs, but this is way too low. This is an A’s team that has found all kinds of success this season and Cole Irvin has been good in each of his last two starts. Back the A’s.
Pick: A’s +140
Chicago Cubs +115 at Atlanta Braves -125 Total 9
The Cubs offense has had a couple of breakout games, but this isn’t going to be one of those where they run up the score. Look for the Cubs offense to score only a run or two and that will keep this game score low overall. Back the under.
Pick: Under 9
Philadelphia Phillies -101 at St. Louis Cardinals -119 Total 8.5
Johan Oviedo doesn’t have a ton of major league experience but he was good in his last start for the Cardinals. In his last start against the Brewers he went 4.2 innings giving up two hits and zero runs. In this game the Phillies are going to struggle to score and the Cardinals will come away with the victory.
Pick; Cardinals ML -119
Los Angeles Angeles -126 at Texas Rangers +105 Total: 9
Alex Cobb has been hit hard in each of his last start two starts. In the last start against the Astros he went 2.2 innings giving up six hits and five runs. For Dane Dunning he has been good this season for the Rangers sitting with a 1-0 record and an ERA near three. Trusting Dunning to come away with a win.
Pick: Rangers ML +105
Seattle Mariners +189 at Houston Astros -209 Total: 8.5
Zack Greinke only gave up two runs in his last start but he gave up ten hits and was playing with fire most of the game. In this game the Mariners offense is going to take advantage and find enough runs to win this game.
Pick: Mariners ML
Detroit Tigers +185 at Chicago White Sox -205 Total: 8
Carlos Rodon has been lights out this season for the White Sox including throwing a no hitter. Rodon currently sits with a 3-0 record and an ERA of 0.47. The Tigers offense won’t get going against him.and the White Sox will win on the run line.
Pick: White Sox ML
Colorado Rockies +125 at San Francisco Giants -148 Total: 7
German Marquez hasn’t been terrible this season but it seems he is always going to give up two or three runs. Even in San Francisco and with the heavy air, seven runs is a little too low. Back the over to cash.
Pick: Over 7 Runs
