The St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies face off on Sunday in a National League MLB showdown at Citizens Bank Park.
On Friday the Phillies were able to come away with the 9-2 victory, but on Saturday the Cardinals got some revenge winning 9-4.
The Phillies have had some issues as of late and coming into this game they have lost four of their last five games. Overall this is an offense that hasn’t been doing enough and going forward the offense is going to need to have more success or this could end up being a long season. Didi Gregprious has been the best player for the Phillies hitting two home runs and driving in ten RBI’s.
On the other side of this matchup is the Cardinals who had lost two games in a row before beating the Phillies on Saturday. This is an offense that has had some really big games including earlier this week when they put up 14 runs against the Washington Nationals. Yadier Molina has been the top player for the Cardinals hitting four home runs and driving in 12 RBI’s.
On the mound for the Cardinals will be John Gant who has pitched nine innings so far this year giving up ten hits and four RBI’s.
On the mound for the Phillies will be Aarn Nola and so far this season he has gone 19.2 innings giving up 15 hits and six runs. Nola has done a good job of working out of trouble when he has had issues this season.
Cardinals are 1-5 in their last 6 overall. Cardinals are 1-5 in their last 6 games on grass. Cardinals are 0-4 in their last 4 games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30.Phillies are 2-5 in their last 7 overall. Phillies are 2-5 in their last 7 games on grass. Phillies are 4-12 in their last 16 Sunday games. Cardinals are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings in Philadelphia.
Both stating pitchers are going to be strong in this game and runs are going to very hard to come by in this game. Look for this game to ve very low scoring and for the under to cash in this game. Back the under.
