The Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves face off on Thursday in a National League MLB showdown at SunTrust Park.
These two teams have faced off three times so far this series with the Marlins winning each of the three games. On Wednesday the Marlins were able to come away with the 7-6 victory and the offense has been the difference for them.
The Marlins aren’t getting talked about a lot but they are playing well coming into this game winning four games in a row. Just a few games ago against the Braves the Marlins offense was elite putting up 14 runs total and they need that offense to be good again in this game. Garrett Cooper has been the best player so far this season hitting four home runs and driving in 16 RBI’s.
On the other side of this matchup is the Braves who have hit a bit of a wall losing three games in a row. Ronald Arcuna has been hot and even though they lost on Wednesday he had another game. On the season, Acuna has hit six home runs and driven in 12 RBI’s.
Getting the start for the Marlins will be Trevor Rogers who has been strong this season especially in his last start. Against the Mets he went six innings giving up zero runs.
On the mound for the Braves will be Ian ANderson who comes into this game with his confidence lacking. In his last start he 5.1 innings giving up five hits and four runs.
Marlins are 4-9 in their last 13 overall. Marlins are 4-9 in their last 13 games on grass. Marlins are 4-9 in their last 13 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. Braves are 6-2 in their last 8 Thursday games. Braves are 9-3 in their last 12 home games vs. a left-handed starter. Braves are 55-24 in their last 79 games as a home favorite. Braves are 39-18 in their last 57 games as a favorite.
Rogers has been strong this season he is going to be lights out again in this game. Look for the Marlins to lock down in this game and come away with a series sweep.
