The Colorado Rockies face the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday, April 15th at Dodger Stadium for game three of a three-game series.
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Colorado Rockies by the final score of 4-2 on Wednesday night. That makes it five straight wins for the Dodgers over Colorado in their season series after the Rockies were able to defeat the Dodgers on Opening Day at Coors Field. The Dodgers have now won five straight games overall and own the best record in baseball at 10-2, while the Rockies have lost five straight games and own one of the worst records in baseball at 3-9. The game on Thursday will be the last meeting between these two teams until the middle of July.
The Colorado Rockies are projected to bring left-hander Austin Gomber to the mound to face the Dodgers in game three. Gomber is 0-2 with a 2.89 ERA through his first 9.1 innings. Despite having a solid ERA to start the year, Gomber finds himself with an 0-2 record for the struggling Rockies this season. Gomber will face the Dodgers for the second time this season. Gomber's first outing against the Dodgers this season was a 3.0 inning one-run performance in which he struck out two batters and allowed a whopping seven walks.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are projected to send the southpaw Julio Urias to the bump to take on the Rockies on Thursday night. Urias is 2-0 with an impressive 2.84 ERA through his first 12.2 innings of the season for LAD. The Dodgers have arguably the best rotation in baseball, and for Julio Urias to be off to the start he is, it makes this rotation a lot more dangerous than it already was. Urias will also be facing the Rockies for the second time this season.
I do not see a plausible way that the Dodgers lose on Thursday, so the only play that I believe has any value would be to take the Dodgers on the run line. If your book offers it, I would take the -2.5 run-line just to get some extra value as well.
