The San Francisco Giants and Colorado Rockies face off on Saturday in a National League West showdown at Oracle Park.
It was the Giants that were able to come away with the 3-1 victory over the Rockies. The Giants scored two runs in the 7th inning and that was enough to come away with the victory.
The Giants have been up and down this season but coming into this game they have won two of their last three games. Each of the last two wins the Giants have scored only three runs in each of the three games and it’s been the pitching staff that has been the difference. Evan Longoria has been good this season hitting three home runs and five RBI’s.
The Rockies had won two games in a row before losing their game against the Giants. At home this season the offense has been strong, but there are still some questions with the way they have scored runs on the road. Ryan McMahon has been the best player for the team hitting four home runs and driving in seven RBI’s.
Chi Chi Gonzalez will be making his third appearance with the Rockies and in his first one he really struggled. Gonzalez went two innings giving up five hits and three runs.
The Rockies are 1-7 in their last eight games during Game 2 of the series. San Francisco is 2-6 in their last eight games overall. The under is 4-1 in the Rockies last five games overall. The under is 4-0 in Giants last four games on grass. The over is 4-1-1 in the last six meetings played between the two teams.
I expect this is going to be a game where the Giants are going to struggle to score and the under will cash with ease. Back the under.
