The Toronto Blue Jays and Texas Rangers face off on Wednesday in an American League MLB showdown at Globe Life Field.
These two teams have played two games so far in this series and each team was able to win one of the games. The Blue Jays won the first Game 6-2 before the Rangers got some revenge winning 7-4.
The Blue Jays had won two games in a row before they were defeated on Tuesday night by the Rangers. In the two wins the pitching staff was strong giving up only only three runs total. Marcus Sieman has been the best player for the Blue Jays hitting two home runs and driving in four RBI’s.
On the other side of this matchup is the Rangers who’s offense has been inconsistent this year but when it’s been good it has led to the success. Nate Lowe has been the best player for the Rangers having two hits, two runs and four RBI’s. IN this game for the Blue Jays it’s going to be about the offense running up the score again.
Hyun Jin Ryu will get the start for the Blue Jays and the team has high expectations for him this season. In his first start against the Yankees, he went 5.1 innings giving up four hits and two earned runs.
Getting the start for the Rangers will be Kyle Gibson who has quality stuff, but he has been inconsistent and the big question is which Gibson will show up in this game. The Rangers are going to need the good one to appear in this game.
The Blue Jays are 7-2 in their last nine games on grass. The Blue Jays are 1-4 in their last five games overall. The Rangers are 4-1 in their last five home games. The under is 4-0 in the Rangers last four games overall. The Blue Jays are 19-9 in their last 28 meetings in Texas. The over is 9-4-2 in the last 15 meetings played between the two teams. The over is 10-4-1 in the last 15 meetings played between the two teams in Texas.
I think Ryu is going to lock down in this game and that will be the difference in this game. Look for the Blue Jays offense to get to Gibson early and often and that will lead to the Blue Jays coming away with a win.
