The Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers face off on Tuesday in an American League Central MLB showdown at Comerica Park.
These two teams faced off on Monday and it was the Twins that was able to come away with the 15-6 victory. Nelson Cruz was the star of the show on Monday hitting two home runs, a double and driving in five runs.
If it wasn’t for a couple of errors by the Twins in the 9th inning of the first game, they would have a perfect 4-0 record. Instead the Twins have a 3-1 record and they have won each of the last three games. Over the last two games, the Twins have scored 23 runs. One issue for this Twins team is they are dealing with a lot of injuries including Josh Donaldons and Byron Buxton. Cruz has driven in six runs and Max Kepler has driven in five.
On the other side of this matchup is the Detroit Tigers who won their first games of the season against the Indians before losing their last two games. Each of the last two games the pitching staff has really let them down. Akil Baddoo has been the best player this season for the Tigers having two home runs and driving in five RBI’s.
J.A. Happ will get the start for the Twins and he will hope to continue the fast start for the Twins starting pitchers. Last year with the Yankees he finished with a 2-2 record and an ERA of 3.47.
On the mound for the Tigers will be Casey Mize who finished last season with an 0-3 record and a 6.99 ERA in seven starts.
The Twins are 4-1 in their last five games played on Game 2 of a series. The under is 5-2-1in the Twins last eight games played on Tuesday. The under is 5-1 in the Tigers last six games overall. The Twins are 39-17 in their last 56 meetings against the Tigers.
I expect both teams are going to struggle to score in this game and the under is going to cash with ease. Back the under.
