The Los Angeles Dodgers and Colorado Rockies face off in an opening day MLB showdown at Coors Field.
The Los Angeles Dodgers know that anything less than winning another World Series is going to be considered a failure for this team. This is a team that added another ace in Trevor Bauer, but he won’t be making the start in this game. On offense this is a team that is loaded with talent led by Mookie Betts who will be looking to get his season out to a fast start. The pitching will need to be good, but at Coors Field it’s going to make the offense even more important to try and run up the score early.
On the other side of this matchup is the Colorado Rockies who a few years ago looked to be only a few pieces away from being a World Series contender, but now it appears they are going through a rebuild. The biggest player gone from last season is Nolan Arenado who the team decided to ship off in a trade to the St. Louis Cardinals. The pitching st4aff is also really banged up heading into the season which could become a major problem.
Clatyon Kershaw isn’t the best pitcher on this team anymore, but he is still getting another opening day start for the Dodgers. Kershaw was inconsistent last season and they are going to need him to have a good start.
German Marquez will get the start for the Rockies and he was decent last season. Marquez finished the year with a 4-6 record overall and an ERA of 3.75. This is a tough lineup, and Marquez is going to need tobe lights out.
The Dodgers are 39-13 in their last 52 road games. The Rockies are 2-5 in their last seven games overall.
Kershaw hasn't been as dominant as years past, and I expect the Rockies are going to find success scoring. Marquez will also struggle for the Rockies and both teams are going to run up the score at Coors Field. Back the over to cash with ease.
