The Los Angeles Dodgers face the Atlanta Braves on Thursday, October 15th at Globe Life Field for game four of the NLCS.
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Atlanta Braves by the final score of 15-3 on Wednesday night in game three of the NLCS. It is fair to say that the Dodgers were a bit frustrated after two straight losses to start the series, and the team took out their frustrations on the baseball on Wednesday. The Dodgers would hit three home runs including a Max Muncy grand slam in the very first inning to jump out to an 11-0 lead, an MLB postseason record. The Dodgers were not playing around in game three, as they dominated the game from start to finish. The series is still 2-1 in favor of the Braves, but the momentum is certainly with the Dodgers after Wednesday's performance. The Dodgers will look to even up the series at 2-2 with a win on Thursday as the official road team.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are projected to bring their ace in left-hander Clayton Kershaw to the mound to face the Braves in game four. Kershaw was scratched from his start in game two of the series, but all signs show that he is set to start in game four. Kershaw has been great in the postseason thus far, allowing three earned runs through 14.0 innings of work against the Brewers and Padres.
The Atlanta Braves are projected to send right-hander Bryse Wilson to the bump for Thursday's contest. Wilson will most likely be used as an opener in this game, as he is usually found out of the bullpen for the Braves. Wilson will be pitching in his first game this postseason, and he will look to get through 1-2 innings to start the game.
With Kershaw on the mound, the Dodgers open as big favorites with a -200 price on the money line. I like the Dodgers' chances to tie the series up at 2-2 with a big win on Thursday. I think Kershaw will be sharp and the Dodgers' bats will be even sharper, and I will take the Dodgers on the run line here.
