The Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves face off on Wednesday in Game 2 of their NLDS series at Minute Maid Park.
In Game 1 it was the Braves who were able to come away with a 9-5 victory. Ronald Acuna Jr was hit in Game 1 and that is something to keep a close eye on as this series goes on in terms of tempers flare.
The Marlins got out to a fast start in Game 1 but they tried to keep out starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara one inning too long and that was the mistake. Alcantar gave up eight hits and five earned runs. Reliever Yimi Garcia only went 0.1 innings giving up three hits and three earned runs.On offense the Marlins were led by Garrett Cooper who had one hit and drove in two runs. One problem for the Marlins is they are without Starling Marte who is still dealing with a broken hand.
On the other side of this matchup is the Braves who got out to a slow start but the offense got going in the middle innings including six runs in the 7th inning. Travis d”Arnaud was the star of the show having three hits, two walks, and four RBI’s. In this game the Marlins can’t fall behind early and play wit that type of fire. Getting the first couple of runs would go a long way in winning this Game 2.
The under is 7-1 in the Marlins last eight playoff games. The over is 6-2 in the Marlins last eight Wednesday games. THe Braves are 7-3 in their last ten games overall. The Braves are 37-16 in their last 53 games as a favorite. The Marlins are 2-6 in Lopez’s last eight starts against the Braves.
Pablo Lopez will get the start for the Marlins and coming into this game he sits with a 6-4 record and an ERA of 3.61.
Ian Anderson will get the start for the Braves and coming into this game he sits with a 4-2 record and an ERA of 1.64.
Ian Anderson has been good this year and that will continue in this game Look for the Braves to lock down the Marlins bats and that will lead to the Braves winning this game on the run line.
