The San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers face off on Tuesday in an NLDS showdown at Globe Life Field.
These two teams faced off ten times this year with the Dodgers coming away with victories in four of them.
The San Diego Padres have been one of the most exciting teams in baseball but it took some work to get into this round of the playoffs. After losing the first game of the series against the St. Louis Cardinals, the Padres had to come back in game two to tie the series. In Game 3 it was an elite pitching outfit and the four runs were enough to advance. So far in the playoffs Fernado Tatis Jr has been the star of the show hitting two home runs and driving in five RBI’s. This is a Padres team that isn’t lacking confidence so even if they fall behind they aren’t out of this game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Los Angeles Dodgers who had very little problem with the Milwaukee Brewers in their first series of the playoffs. In the first two games of the playoffs, the Dodgers only scored seven runs total but the pitching staff was elite giving up only two runs total. Mookie Betts has been the best offensive player this season for the Padres and during the playoffs he has already driven in three runs.
The Padres haven’t announced a starting pitcher yet, but whoever it is will have their hands full against a strong Dodgers offense.
On the mound for the Dodgers will be Walker Beuhler who went four innings against the Brewers in the last start giving up three hits and two runs.
The Padres are 6-14 in their last 20 games played on Tuesday. The Dodgers are 24-6 in their last 30 games played on Tuesday. The under is 6-2 in the Dodgers last eight playoff games. The Padres are 15-36 in their last 51 meetings against the Dodgers.
Beuher didn’t look great in his first playoff start and that will continue in this game. Look for the Padres offense to find success and they will have no issue coming away with a victory.
