The San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants face off on Sunday in their last game of the regular season at Oracle Park. The Giants have lost each of the last two games played between the two teams.
The Giants looked like they were going to be in the playoffs, but then they lost the late game on Friday and lost the game on Sunday and now they need to win this game and get some help to not have their season end.On Saturday, the GIants had their chances to score runs, but they could only get two runs across the plate and that led to the loss. In this game to come away with the win they need the offense to get out to a fast start. With their confidence, falling behind is going to be almost impossible to come bac from.
On the other side of this matchup is the San Diego Padres who have their spot in the playoff but they aren’t taking their foot off the gas winning two games in a row.On Saturday it was Tommy Phan and Mitch Morealnd who both drove in two RBIs. This could be a game where Fernado Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado sit this one out. Those two guys have been the stars, and their offense would suffer if they weren’t in the lineup.
The Padres are 24-11 in their last 35 games overall. The Giants are 8-2 in their last ten home games. The Padres are 24-11 in their last 35 games on grass.
There has been no starting pitchers announced but the Giants will pull out all the stops to try and come away with a victory in a game they have to win.
This is a must-win for San Francisco and they are going to get the job done in this game. Look for the Giants bats to get going early and run up the score. The Giants will also get a good pitching performance and that will lead to a victory.
