The Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks face off on Sunday to wrap up their season with a National League showdown.
The Colorado Rockies have bene mostly a disappointment this season but winning two games in a row to end the season would be a nice way to end it. On Saturday it was the offense that ran up the score, something that hasn’t always been the case . On Saturday they had three different players who drive in two runs. Charlie Blackmon has been the best offensive player for the Rockies hitting six home runs and driving in 42 RBI’s.
On the other side of this matchup is the Arizona Diamondbacks who were playing good baseball before losing on Saturday. The Rockies had won four games in a rwo and during those four games they had given up only eight runs. Kole Calhoun has had a big year for the Diamondbacks hitting 15 home runs and driving in 37 RBI’s.
Kyle Freeland will get the start for the Rockies and coming into this game he sits with a 2-2 record and an ERA of 3.69.
On the mound for the D-Backs will be Madison Bumgarner who has been mostly a disappointment this season for the team. Coming into this game he sits with an 0-4 record and an ERA of 7.36. Bumgarner’s last start was good though giving five innings giving up only two hits.
The over is 6-2 in the Rockies last eight games played on Sunday. The under is 13-3 in the Diamondbacks last 16 games played on Sunday. The Rockies are 7-2 in Freeland’s last nine starts against the Diamondbacks. The under is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings between the Diamondbacks and Rockies in Arizona.
If you like a lot of runs scored in a game, this is a game you are going to want to watch because there is going to be plenty scored in this one. Look for both pitchers to struggle, for offenses to run up the score and for this game to go over the posted total. In terms of the side it's a lean to the Rockies.
